The Under 16 Cancer Patient Experience Survey helps us to understand and improve the care and experience for children under the age of 16 in care and treatment for cancer. The results from the survey will provide national-level insight into the experiences of children with cancer and inform how the NHS delivers cancer services going forward. The aim is to radically improve the outcomes for children and young people affected by cancer. Children who received cancer-related care and treatment in 2024, and their parents or carers, will receive a survey in the post from April 2025. For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/d4Rr63m.

Back in February I presented at two of our National Staff Survey client workshops on questions Q17a and 17b, which ask NHS staff about their experiences of unwanted sexual behaviours in the workplace. Attendees shared some really helpful insights into their initiatives to protect their staff. This article, published in the HSJ, gives an overview of Staff Survey data from 2023 and 2024, and reflects on how NHS organisations can sustain a focus on change. For context, these two questions were added to the #NHSStaffSurvey in 2023, so 2024 gives us the first set of trend data. As more data is collected in future, it will be useful in evaluating the success of measures in NHS England's #EDIImprovementPlan and its #SexualSafetyCharter, particularly as there were also updates to the #WorkerProtectionAct in October 2024. People living with long-term conditions deserve care that is not only clinically effective, but also co-ordinated, personalised, and safe. 📄The latest report from the Health Services Safety Investigations Body (HSSIB), identifies the risks patients face when care across primary and community services isn’t joined up - often placing the burden of coordination on individuals and their families. 🟣At Picker, we’ve called for person centred care to be the guiding principle of the upcoming #10YearPlan. The data from the latest #NHSStaffSurvey reveals how unwanted sexual behaviours are affecting different NHS staff groups: ❗ In 2024, 0.94% of NHS staff reported six or more incidents of unwanted sexual behaviour from patients or the public.
