We enable support that makes a positive impact with days, stays and lives, including Bury Shared Lives.

About us

We believe that people deserve social care which improves their quality of life. We know that it's unique to every individual, so we tailor our support to what matters to you. Persona was created in October 2015. The services which make up Persona were previously delivered in-house at Bury Council. We are proud to have a long track record as quality in-house service but welcome the opportunity to take forward a new organisation with the ability to do things differently. We provide a range of different support options designed to be flexible to meet the diverse needs of the community. We categorise these as Days, Stays and Lives.

  • The latest installment in our Green Plan journey is a spring volunteer litter pick in Bury. Our Green Ambassador, Carmen, organised the day with help from Kathy at Bury Council. The group met at Bury Interchange and walked all over the town centre to collect several bags of litter. They were cheered on by members of the public and finished with a well earned lunch. Thank you to everyone who took part! alt text: images of two women holding litter pickers and bin bags and smiling to camera. • We've opened up our High Five employee recognition scheme so that anyone external to Persona who would like to show their appreciation can do so. Congratulations to everyone who got a High Five this month and especially to our Living the Values Recognition winners! • Did you know that people in Bury can self refer, or refer someone they know, to intermediate care (IMC) or to Elmhurst via our website? This article explains more https://lnkd.in/ek8CbCzt Jim stayed with us for IMC at Elmhurst and his wife had these words for the staff who looked after him: Thank you to everyone who helped to look after my husband during his stay at Elmhurst. He has been very content and happy during his time in your care and this has given us peace of mind. Doris. #compliment #feedback #IntermediateCare #ShortStay

  • Are you a community group or organisation who needs a space in Bury? Social Spaces is your opportunity to use our buildings for free and to give something back to the community. Our recent partnership with Foundations of Wellness means we can offer free sound baths and yoga to people we support and we are excited to be working with Andys Man Club in Ramsbottom and enhancing our mental wellbeing resources, particularly for men. If you'd like to get involved and give something back to the Bury community, find the details here https://lnkd.in/eX4eUuTr alt text: teal background with white foreground and this text appears: this is an opportunity for community groups and organisations to use our buildings for free, choose from a range of locations across Bury and give something back to the community. • Are you under 25 and caring for a family member in Bury, or do you know someone who is? The Carers Trust is campaigning to give young carers a break this #YoungCarersActionDay and we can help with that. We have short stay options (sometimes called respite) for family members to stay with us or with another family for a night or two, or even longer. Shared Lives places people in their carer's home and they are matched with people who share their beliefs and interests. Elmhurst also provides short stay, either for a break or to help people recover after illness or a hospital stay on our intermediate care (IMC) unit. Learn more about both here: https://lnkd.in/ebg4W49V Please share this post with your network if you think it will help a young carer to get a break. #GiveMeABreak #BetterShared

  • Last month our colleagues at Grundy Hub had a visit from Training 2 Care UK, where a simulator gives people with a healthy brain the chance to experience what it's like to live with dementia. One person commented: '(it was) a massive eye opener and a small snippet into the world of a person living with dementia'. Read more comments on the link below. We're always looking for new ways to improve how we support people in Bury. At Grundy Hub Get Social we - provide specialist dementia care - offer a bathing service - welcome people over 50 to meet people and try new things and we offer free taster sessions too. https://lnkd.in/egMjwinW
