Sample a single coffee, decaffeinated using three different processes in an exploration of how decaffeination influences the flavour and profile. This ensures your coffee will be freshly roasted in time to partake in James Hoffman's live cupping event. More about the coffee The Decaf Project presents a unique opportunity to experience the same coffee, decaffeinated in three different ways. La Virgen hails from Huila, Colombia. Just 16 tonnes of this coffee has been exclusively grown for the Decaf Project, produced by a collective of smallholders. La Virgen contains a combination of Caturra, Colombia and Castillo bean varieties. The decaffeination processes include Ethyl Acetate, Natural Carbonic and Swiss Water Process. This coffee has been sourced in collaboration with Caravela Coffee - a renowned and trusted green coffee exporter, who have devoted almost 25 years to connecting roasters across the world with skilled and reliable producers in Latin America. What's Included in the kit? Your tasting kit will include 4x 60g samples La Virgen Non-decaf La Virgen Swiss Water Decaf La Virgen Ethyl Acetate Decaf La Virgen Natural Carbonic Decaf These samples are available as whole bean, or ground to the ideal level for cupping.
