Last week, Ferro Döküm visited the Omega Sinto headquarters in Peterborough, UK. Our Sales Manager, Burak CAGLI, accompanied them during the visit and discussed future projects as part of our ongoing efforts to further enhance sustainability in the foundry industry.

Omega Sinto offer complete foundry solutions employing world-class manufacturing of chemically bonded sand equipment. We offer a wide range of products which includes sand mixers, mould handling equipment, core making machines, shakeouts, sand reclamation plants, and coating plants. Omega Sinto is also capable of assisting with layout and design of new foundries on greenfield sites and in expanding existing ones. The company operates around the world and employs over 150 personnel. To generate and sustain growth, Omega has formed global strategic companies: Tinker Omega LLC was formed in 2000 to serve North America and Mexico; Omega Sane Foundry Machinery PVT Ltd was also formed in 2009 to support our sales and service in India; ENDECO Omega (PTY) Ltd formed in 2014 to serve South Africa; and Omega Tecnostudio SRL design office in Italy was acquired in 2015. Omega also has representative offices in Turkey and China.

Did you know the biggest factor in causing wear in your reclamation plant is not cleaning out the tramp metal/chills etc that caught in between the screens on a regular basis. This Omega HL20 (High Level) sand attrition unit, with a capacity of 20 tonnes per hour is fitted with the optional extra automatic ‘clean out’ doors. This system makes it much easier and reduces time for the operator to accomplish this task. No excuses now to clean your unit once per shift!

Last week, GESCRAP visited our Omega Sinto headquarters in Peterborough, UK. Accompanied by our sales manager, Paul Fein, sand trials were conducted at our newly built sand testing/ Pilot Plant facility as part of an ongoing project to further enhance foundry sustainability. GESCRAP are a major global scrap recycling group. While more than 2 million tonnes of scrap metal waste are processed every year at their facilities, GESCRAP are exploring a new innovative approach to foundry sand reclamation.
