Reducing waiting lists with automation across two integrated care systems We partnered with two integrated care systems, combining automated chatbot calls, robotic process automation, and human agents to contact over 80% of patients on waiting lists—leading to a 10% reduction in those lists. This initiative was a finalist for the HSJ Partnerships Award 2023 in ‘Best Elective Care Recovery Initiative.’ Key results: • 80% of patients contacted • 10% of patients removed from the list • 60% of those removed had received treatment elsewhere Our automated solution has tackled the backlog, saved resources, and reduced waiting times, while maintaining quality care. Our management of Staffordshire County Council’s community equipment service led to the elimination of a backlog, improved administrative processes, and the re-establishment of positive stakeholder relationships. As a result, new user requests are now processed within one working day, facilitating timely hospital discharges and improving patient care. Our work with the NHS Leadership Academy significantly enhanced their online presence and social media engagement. Over seven months, we produced engaging videos, images, and posts, increasing Twitter followers from 85.5k to 90.5k and LinkedIn followers from 88.9k to 98k. Our support in hosting and promoting events, along with maintaining and updating their website, ensured a seamless and user-friendly experience. We created a new website area for apprenticeships, improving user engagement and control over the user journey. Our week-long virtual health and wellbeing festival boosted staff morale and engagement, with 759 attendees participating in 42 sessions, and receiving exceptional feedback (average scores of 4.7/5 for health benefits and 4.8/5 for overall experience). This highlighted our strong commitment to staff wellbeing, offering a range of tailored physical, mental, and financial wellbeing sessions, and reinforcing the importance of wellbeing in a post-COVID work environment.
