200 years of the National Gallery - a three-part video series 1824 - two hundred years ago - was a bumper year for the founding of British institutions that perhaps today we take for granted: The RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals); the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution); and the National Gallery in London. While the British were ahead of the curve in protecting animals and saving lives at sea, they were behind their European 'rivals' in establishing a national art collection in a suitable building. France already had the Louvre (1793), Spain the Prado (1819) and Russia the Hermitage (1764). For 18 months, NextShoot has worked with the National Gallery to create a 90-minute, three-part series to celebrate its bicentenary. We delve deep into the 200-year history of a remarkable national institution that came to rival the best art galleries in the world - surviving war, theft and no little controversy along the way. Watch the trailer and read the case study here https://lnkd.in/exHgZ8JV And tune into the National Gallery's YouTube channel for the first broadcast this Friday 8th November at 7pm here https://lnkd.in/ewwJcVJ6

The video production industry is embracing the opportunities offered by AI - whether that’s a creative bootstrap, working with algorithms to develop scripts and storyboards, using tools to streamline the post-production process, or going all out with fully AI-generated visual content. In this blog, we look at the AI software available to video production companies and explore some of the advantages and limitations of using AI in video content production - from creativity, efficiency and cost-effectiveness to copyright infringement, factual inaccuracy and bias. #nextshoot #ai #videoproduction

The founding of NextShoot in 2009 was overshadowed for some (not us) by the Oasis split, Barack Obama’s inauguration, and the death of Michael Jackson. In that year Windows 7 was released, US Airways Flight 1549 crashed into the Hudson and Bitcoin was launched at $0.0009 per coin (oh for a time machine). The most-watched video on YouTube with 120 million views was Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent (ok, put the time machine back). Online video was in its infancy. Mobile content was scarce. No one knew what a petfluencer was. For better or worse, the dial has moved a long way since 2009. Video content is now inseparable from the fabric of modern life, available on demand, and mostly consumed on smartphones. Video durations are shorter, contributors arrive camera-savvy, measurability is key. In these fifteen years, Nextshoot has made many thousands of videos, for some of the most recognisable brands and organisations around the world. The cameras, internet bandwidth and aspect ratios may have changed, but we still approach every project with the same attitude: to do the best we can for our clients, and to create work that we’re proud to put our name to. Meanwhile Oasis have done literally nothing. We’re celebrating 15 years of exceptional collaborations with a 15% discount on our rate card throughout October 2024.
