Are you ready to break barriers and let your true light shine?
Reflections from MSDUK’s Women’s International Day Celebration
Hosted by GSK, MSDUK’s Women’s celebration brought together inspiring voices to explore the layers of identity that shape our experiences in the workplace and beyond. Authenticity, inclusion, and empowerment were key themes that provided a platform for exciting storytelling and shared experiences.
Inspiring contributions by the panel members Dawn Jarvis Kiran Kachela Roneish Myers Beatrice Ngalula Kabutakapua - Business Storytelling Coach and the amazing moderator @Thanhcatachas

Key Takeaways
1. Leave Imposter Syndrome at the Door
o Believe in yourself, and positive change will follow. Don’t hold yourself back. Own your worth. Keep going, progress is a journey.
2. Authenticity is Strength
o “This is me, and that’s okay.” Embracing who we are, rather than masking our identities, is the first step in breaking barriers.
3. Find or Create Your Community
o If you can’t find a space where you belong, build one. Shared experiences enhance connection, and growth.
4. Champion Inclusive Leadership
o Organizations must align people, processes, and technology to empower employees to be the best they can be.
5. Celebrate Differences, Don’t Conform.
o The challenges of intersectionality—whether it’s navigating industries as a woman of colour, dealing with neurodiversity, or facing systemic barriers—must be addressed.
6. Business Ownership & Economic Empowerment
o Create pathways for diverse talent in entrepreneurship and corporate leadership strengthens social impact and financial resilience.
7. Bravery in Speaking Up
o Whether its tackling bias, advocating for reasonable adjustments, or navigating male-dominated spaces, being bold is key.
On a final note, ‘It’s your time to shine, and lift others along the way!
“No one lights a candle and puts it under a bushel” (Matthew 5:15) Shine—unapologetically, boldly, and authentically. Each of us has a story, a purpose, and a unique perspective that can create a ripple of change.
