📣 We don’t mean to brag, but some news is worth shouting about. We’re pretty chuffed to announce that we’ve surpassed our diversity targets for female partners two years ahead of schedule. 🎉 Our goal was to increase the percentage of women partners to 33% by 2025, which we actually exceeded two years early in 2023 at 35.6%. Currently, women represent 39% of our total partnership. Over the past six months, we’ve welcomed seven new partners across the UK including Catherine Savage, Sarah Williams and Eileen Pathiraja, with women making up over half of these hires. 💪 We’re proud to have met other goals, such as increasing the number of declared disabled staff and partners to 11% and raising the proportion of team members from lower socio-economic backgrounds by 5%. This achievement is the result of years of dedicated effort from numerous people at Mills & Reeve. We extend our thanks to everyone involved for their hard work and commitment towards this. However, this is just the beginning. Our ambitious 2030 strategy aims to drive diversity and inclusion forward, building it into everything we do. We believe in hiring the best people for the job, and our increasingly diverse team is a testament to that commitment. Is this the tallest mountain our Mills & Reeve bottle has ever climbed? 🏔️ It's inspiring to see our colleagues taking time to enjoy nature and recharge. 🌿 How do you prioritise your mental wellbeing?
One of the things I’ve enjoyed most since moving to the UK is exploring the countryside and going on hikes. As a born and bread city girl, this wasn’t something I grew up doing, and instead spend a lot of time at the beach (perks of growing up in a sunny country). On Sunday I completed my most challenging hike yet, and one I’ve been wanting to do for years - Snowdon. It took just over six hours (with plenty of snack breaks!), but the reward was well worth it. Reaching the summit, taking in the incredible views, and enjoying a cuppa from my Mills & Reeve flask - brewed six hours earlier - was the perfect way to top it off. Highest peak in Wales achieved, onto the next one.
