We’re a social enterprise that offers expert guidance and training to support mental health.
About us
We are Mental Health First Aid England. We’re a social enterprise with a vision to improve the mental health of the nation. Our evidence-based training gives people tools to support themselves and each other, so everyone can talk about mental health and seek help when needed. Most adults spend at least a third of their time at work, so we start there to change how society deals with mental health now and in the future. Over the last decade, we’ve provided expert consultancy and training to over 20,000 workplaces. We want mentally healthy workplaces for all. We campaign for equality between mental and physical health in the workplace. We advocate a whole organisation approach and lead by example. As a social enterprise, we reinvest our profits to support the next generation. We offer free and discounted training to those in the sports and recreation sectors working with young people. Together, let’s create a society where everyone’s mental health matters.

We stand for and with the trans community now and always. If you’re hurt, confused, upset, or still processing your feelings following the UK Supreme Court’s ruling yesterday, you are not alone. The trans community deserves support, love, visibility and representation. Your experiences and identities should never be erased or dismissed in this way. We see you, we value you, and we will fight with you. If you need support, please reach out to Switchboard - National LGBTQ+ Support Line MindOut - LGBTQ Mental Health Service or Gendered Intelligence

Yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling will feel heavy for many of us - especially the trans community. The mental health toll of public debate, constant scrutiny in the media, and legal decisions like this is profound. For trans people, this isn’t just political or legal. It’s personal. It’s exhausting. We know some of you are struggling right now, but know this: regardless of this ruling, we’ll keep providing compassionate, tailored mental health support and fighting for the rights of everyone with a mental health problem. You are safe here. We see you. We stand with you. If you need support, here are some places you can go: 🔹 Switchboard LGBT - 0800 0119100 🔹 Galop - 0800 999 5428 🔹 MindOut - mindout.org.uk 🔹 Mermaids - 0808 801 0400 🔹 Gendered Intelligence - genderedintelligence.co.uk 🔹 LGBT Foundation - lgbt.foundation Thank you to Not A Phase and @dirteemurfee for the artwork 💙

Perennial is an occupational charity supporting workers within the horticultural industry for over 185 years, with the vision ‘To build better futures for people in horticulture’. Mental health first aid is a vital part of this vision. To help tackle mental health issues, Perennial launched a pilot MHFA® programme to introduce Mental Health First Aiders across the sector. We spoke to Clare Downs, Head of Preventative Services, about how Perennial is paving the way for better mental health for horticultural workers: https://brnw.ch/21wQZtl (Image description: Two colleagues can be seen behind a range of vegetables. Mental Health Awareness Week is run by the Mental Health Foundation. In 2025 it takes place from 12 May – 18 May. The theme is ‘Community’, and it will celebrate the power and importance of community. Being part of a safe, positive community can be vital for our mental health and wellbeing. People and workplaces thrive when there are strong connections between teams. Communities can provide a sense of belonging, safety, support, and give us a sense purpose. A strong community of Mental Health First Aiders or Champions can transform the culture of your organisation and should be a key component of any mental health and wellbeing strategy. What is MHFA England doing to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week?
