🏟️ BIG NEWS 🏟️ City Hall is investing £4.35 million to make London Stadium one of the world’s greenest sports and concert venues! This investment will fund the installation of 6,500 square metres of solar panels, generating enough clean energy to power all major events held at the stadium each year. That’s over 200 tonnes of carbon emissions saved annually. The project is part of City Hall’s £500m Green Finance Fund, created to help public sector organisations decarbonise and accelerate London’s journey to Net Zero. By March 2025, these upgrades are expected to cut the stadium’s energy use by 1.9 million kWh, with further reductions planned through 2026. This is a game-changer for London Stadium and a model for sustainable venues worldwide. Thanks to all those involved in bringing this project to life, we’re showing the world how London can lead in cutting energy bills, creating new jobs, and tackling the climate crisis. This is an exciting step forward as we continue to set the standard for sustainable sports and entertainment venues.

Last Thursday we had the pleasure of hosting the Deputy Mayor for Energy and Environment, Mete Coban MBE for a workshop on green finance, as part of the London Growth Plan engagement. 🌱 We brought together senior representatives from the Greater London Authority, industry leaders, and sector experts to explore how London can maintain its competitive edge in the green finance sector—and how industry, investors and government can collaborate to support it. The discussions were packed with insights and it's exciting to see how these contributions will shape the Growth Plan moving forward. 🚀 A big thank you to Catherine Barber and Abi Taylor for contributing their insights and to our Pru Ashby for expertly moderating the discussion.
