About us
Voted ‘Best Business Aviation Airport’ 2016 & 2017 - Europe’s Sapphire Pegasus Awards Voted ‘Best Business Airport’ – UK's Airport Operators Association Voted one of the top 5 FBOs (private jet terminals) in Europe - Altitudes London Oxford Airport (OXF / EGTK) is the UK Thames Valley's only regional airport, located equidistant between Heathrow and Birmingham as the only IFR airport alternative. 6 miles from central Oxford, but an hour from London via the uncongested M40 motorway, the airport has a catchment of over 5 million passengers. Now served by the new Oxford Parkway rail station, just over 55 minutes from central London. The airport has a unique mix of usage having hosted Europe’s largest pilot training school, Oxford Aviation Academy. However, today, it has evolved into also being one of the UK’s top five private and business aviation hubs with some 6,000 private aviation flights and over 8,000 ‘VIP’ or executive passengers a year. In recent years, the airport has also hosted airline flights, both daily schedules and seasonal holiday charters, with aircraft such as the Embraer E-series jets, BAe/Avro 146/RJ and the new C-Series airliners. Scheduled flights have been hosted for Edinburgh, Dublin, Jersey and Geneva in the past, but today the airport is primarily focused on its business aviation sectors, nevertheless still open to viable proposals for the reintroduction of any commercial services. London Oxford has infrastructure expected to be found at notably larger regional airports, having invested well over £25m since 2008. Operating from 06:00 to midnight and for aircraft up to 737-800 size, the airport also hosts over a thousand employees working for 25 businesses including five aircraft maintenance companies and four pilot training establishments, creating a specialist aviation and aerospace hub. Tenants include global industry leaders such as CAE, Airbus and Gama Aviation.

Farewell to one of our local motorsports heroes. There were very good times in the past, with the likes of Eddie's Hawker 125-700 lined up next to Flavio Briatore's, Tom Walkinsaw's, Adrian Reynard's aircraft and a whole host of other players in the sector, varying degrees of entertainment and chaos out on the ramp. Keep having fun #eddiejordan

Another day, another major project begins. The groundworks for our 'Hangar No.16' have commenced. This is another 70,000 sq.ft. facility, almost identical to Hangar No.15 seen in the image below - good for up to six Global/Gulfstream larger models, stored simultaneously. Due for completion by the year end, it is likely to be allocated for both MRO (engineering) activities alongside aircraft operations. At the British Business and General Aviation (#BBGA) conference yesterday, the London area catchment was ackowladged yet again as Europe's primary destination for business aviation, almost double the activity seen in Paris, the nearest rival, at over 50,000 departures a year in 2024. There are over 300 business jets based around the UK's capital, of which the dominant category are those larger Ultra Long Range transcontinetal jets. London remains the world's primary transit point for investors and capital in our private aviation sector. In the image below, you can also see two of our newest tenant's test compounds. One for OXCCU and their eFuel development - producing synthetic jet fuel, basically derived from air (well, hydrogen and CO2 to be precise), pure alchemy! The other is for Qdot Technology and their hydrogen fuel cell-derived powerplant development. Exciting times to be at #londonoxfordairport #oxccu #qdot #futureaviation

One of those rare occasions where an old hangar is all scrubbed-up with a new floor before becoming stuffed with aircraft and equipment again, perhaps for several years. This is our original 1930's 'Hangar No.1', a WWII-era Morris Hangar (there's an identical one at Cambridge Airport too). Ready for our new tenant, Flying Smart, this will support TBM aircraft in particular, but has already seen several Cirrus types too for MRO support at #LondonOxfordAirport. This original OXF/EGTK facility (the bombs missed it!) has always been a busy MRO operation in many guises - with CSE Aviation for several decades, full of Cessna and Piper products in the main, then PremiAir - as a Hawker Beechcraft Service Centre, more recently with Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) and CAE with their fleet of Pipers and now, a new customer support, training and aircraft sales operation with Flying Smart. At the back are training and crew briefing amenities along with a simulator hall, ready for TBM customers from all over Europe. #MRO #TBM #DAHER #SERVICESUPPORT #FLYINGSMART #SERVICECENTRE #MAINTENANCE

#londonoxfordairport hosted a group of Thames Valley Police (TVP) Detective Constables and Inspectors last week at the conclusion of a three week course. The airport is very fortunate to have the TVP headquarters literally at the entrance to the airport. TVP is the largest non-metropolitan police force in England and Wales with nearly 8,000 employees, covering 2,200 square miles, including Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire and serving over 2.34m people. It has been of significant benefit to the airport having them so close by, especially when hosting VVIP operations and Head of State events locally.

The #londonoxfordairport #AEROX technology park is coming along fast with the steels for the first unit almost complete. Alongside building No.1 will be a retail unit with a coffee outlet and both should be completed later this summer. Part of the 200,000+ sq.ft. AEROX park at the entrance to the airport, this continues the ongoing evolution here with another new 70,000 sq.ft hangar, No.16, about to commence construction in February....more on that in due course. www.aerox-oxford.com #infrastructure #development #techpark #aerox #aerospace #businesspark #technology #investment #growth
