Just 8 days and an Easter egg hunt stand between us and LDT LIVE! The home straight is equal parts exciting and gulp as we rehearse presentations and finalise the run of show with the team at 180 Studios. On the very exciting side of things, we shared the full line-up with attendees last week - including some brilliant recent additions: • Kathrin Widu, Managing Director @ Vienna City Marathon • Jeanette Wong (CA), CFO @ London Marathon Events • Matt Wood, Co-founder @ RunThrough • Michelle Doti Taylor, Global Sports Sponsorship @ TCS • Alex Ainsworth, Principal Product Manager @ Runna We can’t wait to create a space to explore the most inspiring, pressing, and transformative opportunities our industry has ahead. A huge thank you to all of the speakers for the time and thought they’re putting into their sessions. You can see the full-line-up and sign-up to watch the stream here: https://lnkd.in/ese6hitU See you on the other side!

New Digs, Same Mission: Bringing People Together Offline We’ve just moved into our new office in Marylebone - and it already feels like home. Sam Browne and I have always believed that where you work shapes how you work. Having a space that encourages collaboration, creativity, and real connection really matters to us - and this one hits the mark. It’s bright, it’s buzzing, and it’s got the kind of energy that makes you want to build something great. Being just a short run from Regent’s Park doesn’t hurt either - especially for a company built on the idea of getting people together offline. If this sounds like the kind of place you’d thrive, we’d love to hear from you. We’re hiring across the team - check out our open roles https://lnkd.in/efBvMy7n

It’s a song and dance this event organisation malarkey isn’t it? One moment, everything’s falling into place, and the next, you’re juggling unexpected surprises. Lovely stuff. With just three weeks to go, we’re deep into production mode for LDT LIVE on April 24th - finalising presentations, shaping conversations, and making sure everything is set for an amazing day. It’s exciting to see such a fantastic mix of event organisers and community leaders joining us, including Legacy Races, Vienna City Marathon, and Canada Running Series. Last time I counted, teams from 13 countries will be there - that’s awesome. Today, we announced five new speakers who will dive into all things growing participation, community-building, emerging event formats, and the role of AI in the space: • Andy Gould - COO @ Bike New York • Lucy Wood - Race Director @ Women’s Run Series  • Luke Myers - Founder @ Unsanctioned Athletics  • Nazrin Khanom - Founder @ sheRUNS Community  • Alexander Betts - Professor @ University of Oxford We’re so glad they’re joining us and can’t wait to hear their insights on the day. We’ll be announcing more speakers and the full line-up soon. If you’d like to catch the presentations, you can sign up for the stream here: https://lnkd.in/ese6hitU Right, back to it!

The UK's "Worst Running Event" Is Changing the Game What happens when you strip away finish lines, medals, and race bibs, but still attract 22,000+ runners in a year? It was recently suggested I was a glorified wedding planner. I said that’s silly Rob. But there is something I love about organising events. Figuring out a line-up that inspires and brings people together and creates a safe space to share learnings. Competition and ego is left at the door and together we move things forward. It all started in 2010 with the Brilliant Design Lecture at Huddersfield University, this was followed by Design Talk and Transition with Percolate in New York. The bug has been sparked again with the Extra Mile and LDT LIVE with Let’s Do This over the last couple of years. I couldn’t be happier for our team, partners, and the community, that LDT LIVE is firing up again for round 2 on April 24th @ 180 Studios. Today we shared news with attendees of some brilliant speakers who will be joining us to share the insights and innovations shaping the future of mass participation sports: • Eden Rainbow-Cooper - 2024 Boston Marathon winner, Team GB Para athlete • Sophie Power - Team GB Ultrarunner, SheRACES Founder • Warren Smith - Head of Sports & Factual @ Box to Box Productions • Theo Larn-Jones - Founder, CEO @ Love Trails • Tyler Williams - Green - Founder, CEO @ The Outrunners Charity We will continue to fine tune sessions and more speakers will be announced shortly. You can sign-up for the live stream here: https://lnkd.in/ese6hitU 50 days to LDT LIVE!

You’re not alone, our eyes are also firmly fixed on Pancake Day. Also, February was fun! Thank you to our partners and team for such a great month. 💨 Our Feel Your Fast campaign launched, in partnership with adidas Running, aimed at democratising speed and helping more people run, and feel their fastest - https://lnkd.in/ea_zYRD5 🏊♀️ We supported our partner London Marathon Events for the third year running to sellout their iconic Swim Serpentine 💃 LDT LIVE has been announced for 24th April at London’s 180 Strand, so we’ve been busy planning a special day that brings event organisers and community leaders together - https://lnkd.in/eJa7-SpP 🇺🇸 The Running USA Conference was awesome, one of the highlights was our CEO, Sam Browne, and Atlanta Track Club's CEO, Rich Kenah, hosting a discussion about how ATC continue to grow their iconic event, the AJC Peachtree Road Race 📱RNIB came by our offices for an insightful lunch and learn session on living with sight loss, the role of accessible technology, and how we can build a more inclusive and accessible product for everyone 🔮 We held a Hackathon where we spent the day experimenting with how we can use AI Agents to better support our partners and improve our platform 🤗 And last but not least, we welcomed four new starters to our growing team across the UK and US, great to have you with us Matteo, Josh, Nicole and Frankie!

  • 9 weeks to go until LDT LIVE!! In advance of LDT LIVE this April, we’re looking back on the incredible talks from our event in October 2024. We’re kicking things off with our LDT Data Team’s assessment of the key 2024 trends that are driving the agenda for 2025. This was done in a collaboration with Massive and John Tasker 🙏 Key Insights: ✅ Participation is (finally!) up pre-pandemic – up 15% from 2019 ✅ Runners are getting younger – 20-29 year olds now make up 22% participants (vs. 18% in 2022) ✅ Travel for races is booming - 10% of UK participants now travel 100+ miles to events ✅ Running is thriving, but cost remains a major barrier for a lot of participants ✅ Retention is still hard – only 25% of participants return the next year Watch the video for the full report here: https://lnkd.in/edq42q-f Want more?  Sign up for the Live Stream for LDT LIVE April 2025 and access all the talks from LDT Live October 2024 here: https://lnkd.in/eJa7-SpP
