Supporting innovative food businesses in our inKERBator programme + accelerating them through our markets and events.

About us

We are a membership organisation dedicated to the incubation and acceleration of London’s most innovative street food businesses. We believe that the food on our streets should be filled with incredible, diverse, slap-you-round-the-face-it’s-so-good flavour, and that the talented traders behind it should have the best chance possible to do what they love, develop their businesses and, ultimately, succeed from the kerb up. Our platform is strong and continues to expand because is has been built on some simple yet powerful founding principles: Amazing food Talented people Professional practices Transforming city spaces We're also shaking things up in the catering world – taking our street food prowess, raw talent and deliciousness off the kerb and into London’s biggest, most iconic and unique venues. Our experienced team works all year round, indoors and out, in London and beyond, for 50 up to thousands of guests at award ceremonies, experiential events, conferences, Christmas parties, festivals, private dinners, weddings & product launches. HISTORY We were founded by Petra Barran who began talent spotting and organising traders from her choc-mobile, Choc Star, in 2010. The idea for KERB was basically incubated in an ice cream van! While scooping and shaking, rolling and pouring all chocolate everything, Petra spotted an opportunity to do something with all the talent and flavour she saw in her fellow traders. The idea was to cluster – to seek out the most exciting street food talent, bring them together on the streets of London and progress this dynamic but previously unorganised industry. We have been at the helm of the London street food scene since launching in 2012 at King’s Cross. We have improved the quality of food served on the capital’s streets, legitimised the industry through professionalising its practices, given Londoners something tasty to sink their teeth into and grown a community of entrepreneurs who are driving real change across the city.

An Anaphylaxis Kitt is now installed in one of the UK’s busiest food halls: Seven Dials Market in Covent Garden, London! Operated by KERB - a qualifying business with occupational health, they’re the first food hall in the UK to install an Anaphylaxis Kitt. Now, trained staff can access emergency adrenaline pens inside the Kitt to treat severe allergic reactions on site. Safety has always been a top priority for Seven Dials market, with allergen menus accessible via QR codes for all their 20 independent food vendors. With almost a thousand Kitts now stationed in schools and qualifying businesses across the UK - It’s amazing to see such forward-thinking venues leading the way to create a new standard for allergy care! A huge thanks to Olly, Brendan & Robert for making this happen :) #Allergy #HealthandSafety #Startup

💥 KERB MEMBER SUMMIT 2025 💥 Last week, we brought together some of the most exciting talent in London’s street food scene for our annual KERB Member Summit. Since starting on the streets over 12 years ago, we’ve seen firsthand how tough street food can be without the right support, network and know-how. It's why our community is at the heart of everything we do. And this year, we’re doubling down. Creating more opportunities (than ever before) for street food talent to thrive, not just in London, but across the globe 🌍 Because the more businesses we can help get on (and off) the KERB, the more great food we can get into your hands, and the more impact we can have 🔄 Together. From the KERB up. #HospitalityIndustry #StreetFood #IndependentBusiness #FutureOfFood #KERBMemberSummit2025
