On Saturday 5th April, the KFC Youth Foundation opened its very first permanent Youth Hub — right in the heart of Middlesbrough ❤️ At a time when over two-thirds of council-funded youth centres have closed since 2010, this hub is a much-needed space for 3,000+ young people to feel safe, supported, and inspired. From wellbeing rooms and cooking classes to employability programmes like Hatch, the hub is built to help young people grow, create, and connect. Here at Team Kefco, we’re incredibly proud to champion the amazing work of the KFC Youth Foundation. We’re passionate about social purpose, whether it's through community partnerships, fundraising, or supporting local causes. This launch is a shining example of what purpose-led action can look like. We’re also extra proud that our very own Claire Owen sits on the KFC Foundation Board, helping drive this mission forward 🙌 This is just the first of four Youth Hubs planned by 2030 — and it’s only the beginning. 👉 Read more here: #TeamKefco #KFCFoundation #YouthHub #Middlesbrough #SupportingOurPostcodes #KFCPride #ClaireOwen #CommunityFirst #YouthEmpowerment #SocialPurpose

🌱 Great British Spring Clean 2025 🌱 On 1st April, our amazing restaurant teams across Essex rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in for the Great British Spring Clean. Armed with bags, gloves, and a huge sense of pride, they set out to clean up litter hotspots and give back to the communities they care about so much. Our teams were joined by fantastic local support, including Councillor Julie Gooding, Councillor Adrian Smith, Gina Placey, and brilliant community groups like Rochford District Litter Picks. Together, we shared one goal: to leave our outdoor spaces better than we found them. 💪 We’re incredibly proud—not just of the effort our teams put in, but of the passion they show for supporting their postcodes and making a positive difference where they live and work. 💚 A big thank you to everyone who took part—and to the councillors, community champions, and journalists who helped bring attention to this initiative. We’re all about creating positive impact, one street at a time. 👟♻️ #GreatBritishSpringClean #CommunityMatters #TeamKFC #GivingBack #LitterPick #EssexCommunity #PositiveImpact #PeopleFirst

This festive season, our volunteers from Team Kefco donated gifts and hard earned cash, rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in wrapping presents and delivering them to help make Christmas a little brighter for children in need across Essex. We are super proud of our team for stepping up and showing what true community spirit looks like. It’s not just about the work we do every day, it’s about finding ways to give back and make a real difference where it matters most. 💖 A huge thank you to Kids Inspire for the incredible work they do year-round. Partnering with them has been such a rewarding experience, and we’re so glad we could play a small part in the incredible work they do. Let’s keep the spirit of giving going this Christmas! 🌟 #TeamKefco #KidsInspire #GivingBack #Community

Yesterday we hosted our annual Kefco Cook-Off final in a bid to find our top cook within Kefco. After our cooks from our 20 restaurants competed in restaurant and area heats, the three finalists Farida, Will and Kajeepan rolled up their sleeves and bought their A-game, each preparing finger licking product for their panel of judges. It was a very close call, but we have a winner. A huge well done and congratulations to Farida of Grays who is our overall Kefco Cook of the year 2024, and who will go on to compete in the the country finals in September. 👨🍳

One of our restaurants had the privilege of being visited by Louise, Lauren and Hannah from KFC Equity HQ as they do an amazing job of participating in the food donation scheme ensuring their excess food is re-purposed and distributed to those in need. Just to see how important our restaurants food donation is to local communities, we were taken to the Fairshare food donation hub, Hutton Parish in Brentwood to meet the a handful of the 125 volunteers who process and distribute our donated excess product to people and families in need within their local community. It is great to hear stories of how our teams are making a difference to those in their area. We also have to tip our hat to the team at Fairshare for the amazing work they do within their local area. 💕

Our unwavering commitment to employee development remains at the heart of Kefco. We firmly believe that investing in our management team directly contributes to a stronger, more supportive overall team. Recently, we arranged two essential courses for our restaurant managers: Mental Health First Aid: We recognize the critical importance of mental well-being. Our recent mental health first aid course equipped our managers with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and support colleagues who may be facing mental health challenges. Heartstyles Leading With Heart: Our restaurant managers play a pivotal role in fostering a positive work environment. The Heartstyles development course empowers them with tools to lead by example, build strong relationships, and effectively support our team. We are super proud that all of our restaurant managers and above store leaders are now mental health first aid trained and have attended "Leading With Heart". A huge thank you to Petra Northwood for facilitating these sessions for us. We are super luck to have you.
