At InnovateHer, we believe in the power of partnerships to create real change – and our collaboration with ITS is proof of that! From day one, ITS joined us with a vision: to inspire girls and non-binary students aged 13-17 in Liverpool, Blackpool, and Manchester to explore careers in STEM. Together, we’ve delivered free virtual events and digital skills programmes via the InnovateHer platform, educating our student community on the exciting possibilities in tech. ITS have now expanded their student-focused initiatives nationwide - bringing on an additional 3 schools in new areas and collectively impacting more than 2,000 students. With the help of passionate ITS ambassadors, we’ve created inspiring life skills and masterclass videos that empower the next generation. And the impact doesn’t stop there – we’ve worked closely with ITS on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion practices, helping to ensure the tech industry is a space where everyone can thrive. ✨ Here’s the impact we’ve made together so far: Inspiring Assemblies: 1,121 students reached Role Model Talks: 700 students inspired Events/Workshops/Bespoke Programmes: 494 students engaged This partnership has been brought to life by the dedication of ITS colleagues, like Claire, an Ambassador from ITS Technology, who shared: "I enjoy speaking to school pupils as I remember the woeful careers guidance I had at school! It's important to expand horizons, highlight pathways and showcase opportunities on their doorstep. We had a classroom full of enthusiastic, bright young things full of questions! A great way to spend an hour." ITS employees have also embraced our Intro to EDI workshop, with all team members completing the programme, helping to embed inclusivity into their workplace culture. Back in November I was invited to do a workplace mental health wellbeing talk at ITS in Daresbury business park in front of all the amazing staff there and also on Microsoft teams to their London branch for international men’s day 🗣️ I shared with everyone about what we do in the community at TALKHUB C.I.C and why I set it up and also shared my own personal mental health story with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I was joined by the CEO as he shared parts of his story and then we invited people up at the end if they felt like they wanted to speak after we had done our talk. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded the contract to deliver a dark fibre network for Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council 🎉 This project aims to drive economic growth, support local communities, and deliver reliable, high-speed connectivity throughout the area. A huge shoutout to Marie Chinn, Chris Eastgate, and Darren Wilkinson for speaking with students at Riverside College Widnes & Runcorn during their recent careers week ✏ Marie, from our People Team, provided insights into HR, debunking common myths and explaining the vital role HR plays in a company. Chris spoke to construction students about the role of an engineer in laying fibre, and his transition to a Quality Manager. Darren discussed his role in planning, showcasing the mapping software he uses in his work. Each speaker also shared their school and career journeys, highlighting the different paths students can take to achieve their goals.
