IES R&D is excited to be working on DHC SwEEtch, a ground-breaking EU funded project that looks set to transform the future of district heating and cooling (DHC) networks across Europe. Officially launched late 2024, the project will provide essential technical support to DHC operators, assisting them in developing decarbonisation roadmaps for 2050 and actionable investment plans for the next decade. IES’s involvement in the project will focus on the energy modelling and dynamic energy simulation of DHCN networks. 🏢🌎 Last week the UN Environment Programme and the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC) released their latest Global Status Report for Buildings and Construction 2024-2025, providing critical insights into the sector's progress in curbing emissions globally. While one encouraging takeaway was that overall emissions from the sector appear to have stalled for the first time since 2020, the report made one thing abundantly clear – we need to do much more, and faster. Last year, IES and Passivent partnered to allow users to quickly assign and analyse the effect of Passivent Roof Ventilation Terminals within their buildings. We recently announced that, as part of our newly released VE 2024 Feature Pack 1, additional products have been added to the existing Passivent Roof Terminals Navigator and component library within IESVE. We have created the terminals in detail for our users and these require very little adjustment to allow accurate simulation results.
