The uEye EVS, powered by the event-based IMX636 sensor from Sony Semicon (EU) and PROPHESEE, captures even the smallest movements in real-time. Its compact size (29x29x17mm) and high dynamic range make it perfect for low-light conditions. 🌙 By only detecting changes in the scene, it transmits 10-1000x less data than traditional cameras. This efficient data processing saves storage space and computing time, with a temporal resolution under 100µs. A leap forward in motion detection, efficiency, and speed.🚀 #IDShasVision #EventBasedVision #Innovation

Round 2️⃣ of our Q&A about our brand new event-based cameras!📷 Here we go: How exactly does event-based vision capture image data in real time? 👉Just swipe over for the short answer. 💡The long answer: If the contrast of a pixel value changes beyond a certain threshold, a so-called ‘change event’ is triggered. The information of an event includes the X/Y position, the polarity of the event and a timestamp. Each pixel acts independently of its pixel neighbours and with a temporal resolution of 1µs. This means that EVS events are not tied to a fixed time frame and thus a frame rate. #IDShasVision #EventBasedCameras #Innovation #QandA

I am proud that our company has been recognized by the municipality of Gemeinde Obersulm as a fire brigade-friendly business! We received this special recognition during a small ceremony here at our office. Serval IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH employees serving as volunteer fire fighters in different cities in the region and we try to be as flexible as possible to support their work. A big thank you to our team and all the firefighters who keep us safe every day!

Your questions – our quick answers (full details below) We're excited by the overwhelming interest in our new event-based uEye EVS camera series! Over the next few days, we’ll be addressing your most frequently asked questions in a quick Q&A. 🙏 Question 1: What is event-based vision and how does it compare to traditional image-based vision systems? Short answer in the picture post ➡️ please swipe! Long answer: While image-based sensors always transmit the full amount of data from the entire sensor surface at regular intervals, EVS pixels only transmit information and generate data traffic when changes occur in the field of view. This allows ultra-fast movements to be captured with a frame rate exceeding 10,000 FPS, all while avoiding motion blur. The result? High-precision motion data with drastically reduced data traffic. 🚀 #IDShasVision #EventBasedVision #Innovation

💨How does air flow around an airplane?✈️ How does blood move through our veins? And how can pollutant emissions in combustion processes be minimized? The answer lies in precise flow analysis. In addition to established methods like Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), there is now an innovative approach: EBIV (Event-Based Particle Image Velocimetry). Developed by iLA_5150 GmbH, this method combines PIV with event-based cameras – including our uEye EVS. Thanks to its advanced sensor technology, even highly dynamic and turbulent movements can be captured with exceptional efficiency. 📖 Learn more in our Case Study! #IDShasVision #EventBasedCameras #Innovation #CaseStudy
