All actuaries should be pro coders - especially if they're dealing with complex problem scenarios. At least that's the gospel according to our very own Jamie Wilson. "Almost every actuary I've met is drawn to logic, patterns, and problem-solving. Coding is just the logical next step, and we've already seen the inclusion of coding in actuarial exams - so there's no turning back now!" Dive into the no/low/pro-code debate in our latest blog post - link in comments.
About us
We are transforming the insurance industry through the power of decision intelligence. Disconnected systems, unruly data, and outdated processes are undermining the ability of insurers to make their best decisions. We see a better way. We combine first-hand actuarial experience and first-class engineering expertise with a passion for technology, to develop solutions that enable quicker, smarter decision making. Teams are more agile, collaborate more deeply, and work more productively. They update their models more regularly, and have access to a broader array of tools than ever before. Our progressive approach, effective integration and continued support ensure our software delivers from day one and continues to evolve to meet the needs of your future ambitions. We work closely with our clients so they can embrace the digital revolution, enhance productivity and transform the performance of their organisation.

Underwriters should be working faster – not by working harder, but smarter. 70% of underwriters report no meaningful change to their workflows in recent years. When new technology is primed to transform this – the stagnation is worrying. As a result, underwriters spend 3 hours per day (on average) processing data themselves. In a competitive market, a 20-day turnaround from quote to bind simply is not fast enough. We have strong opinions on underwriting workflows. For our full take on unshackling underwriters, read the article in the comments below.

Our VP Growth, Jamie Wilson, shares key insights on why actuaries should embrace coding in the latest Actuarial Post—check out pages 10-11 below!
I sat down and put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) for the Actuarial Post to summarise my thoughts on the future of the profession... Specifically digging into the impact of technology, and why I think all actuaries should learn to code (or at the very least be pro-code). If you're interested - you can find my thoughts on pages 10-11 https://lnkd.in/dEH7GXsX
