We are pleased to have received the Selwyn Goldsmith Universal Design Award and also a Highly Commended award for our Allander Health & Wellbeing Project, at the Civic Trust Awards 2025 - these are a welcome addition to the many accolades the project has received to date. This is particularly rewarding for us, as universal design means making spaces that are inclusive and welcoming to everyone and which allow all users to have an equal experience, no matter their physical or neurological needs, their age or their background. This is central to our design ethic. We’re pleased to be supporting Scottish Canals and Historic Environment Scotland on the transformation of disused canal-side buildings at Lock 16 in Falkirk into Scotland’s Centre of Excellence for Canals & Traditional Skills — a flagship regeneration project and a huge milestone for heritage in Scotland. This fantastic initiative, backed by The National Lottery Heritage Fund investment, aligns with many of our values at Holmes Miller — breathing new life into unused spaces, championing sustainability, and keeping traditional building and craft skills alive. It’s brilliant to see a project that not only restores place and purpose, but also creates pathways for learning, apprenticeships, and future careers. We're proud to play a part in turning this bold vision into a reality. Alan Cadger Samantha Auld Julija Lazareva Robertson Group Narro RSP Consulting Engineers - Part of Drees & Sommer Currie & Brown

Sustainable design isn’t one-size-fits-all. While Passivhaus sets a high benchmark, it’s not always the perfect fit for every project. So, how do we balance sustainability, cost, and practicality? In our latest insight, Magdalena Arent Arent, our Building Performance Consultant, explores The Sustainable Building Spectrum—a nuanced approach to achieving low-energy, high-performance buildings when Passivhaus isn’t the ideal solution. 🚌 PARKING THE BUS? 🚌 We are in Glasgow this week with the adi.tv Roadshow Pod for more of our Architect specific interactive workshops. Huge thanks to Holmes Miller Architects for having us on Tuesday. We held multiple back-to-back interactive group sessions in our expandable pod unit on their car park throughout the day - and in all of them were some really interesting conversations that help us to understand more about their challenges and ideas, and also where we can support them through our market leading range of #LEDscreen technology options. Just some of the key focus areas were: 🔥 Our Fire-rated and blast tested LED screen offering. A game changer in the world of indoor venue design. ↩️ Creative applications of the product, such as convex & concave curved displays 💡 Latest trends in the industry, and how we're embracing them. If these workshops sound interesting then please speak to us about how we can bring these sessions to you (with or without the parked bus!). We're working with #Architects, #UrbanDesignSpecialists #InteriorDesigners, #PropertyConsultants, specialists in #Regeneration and much more, to help their projects embrace digital innovation as part of the original project design.
