The latest phase of the Aylesbury Estate regeneration, delivered in partnership with Notting Hill Genesis and Southwark Council in south London, has officially topped out! 🙌 Known as FDS C, this phase will deliver a mix of shared ownership, private sale, market rent and social rent homes — helping to create a truly mixed and sustainable community. Looking ahead, the next phase is currently in planning and is set to deliver a further 640 homes — with half of these earmarked for affordable housing. Cain Peters MCIOB, FCMI, Managing Director for special projects: “Reaching this important “topping out” milestone at the Aylesbury Estate highlights Hill’s long-standing commitment to building safe, comfortable, and high-quality housing for vital regeneration projects. We hope residents will enjoy the new community centre, health centre and library for many years to come and we now looking forward to completing this project August 2027.” A huge thank you to all partners and community members helping to bring this vision to life. 👏 #AylesburyEstate #Regeneration #LondonHousing #AffordableHomes #CommunityDevelopment #ToppingOut

We’re thrilled to announce we have reached a key milestone at Blackbird Leys, Oxford. In partnership with Peabody and Oxford City Council, we held a ceremony to mark the topping-out of this transformative development. Once completed, 294 new affordable homes will sit alongside new shops, green spaces, and a purpose-built community centre. The development focuses on two key areas: - District Centre: Featuring 210 homes, 83% designated for social or affordable rent and 17% for shared ownership. - Knights Road: An additional 84 houses for shared ownership, providing opportunities for local residents to step onto the housing ladder. Greg Hill, Deputy Chief Executive of The Hill Group, commented: “We have constructed the first phase of this project for our long-standing partner Peabody, with a fabric-first approach, putting sustainability at the forefront of this design. The project includes green spaces, cycle routes and a community centre. We are now looking forward to completing these homes by summer 2027. To help Oxford City Council meet the large demand for high-quality affordable housing in the city.” #CommunityDevelopment #AffordableHousing #UrbanRegeneration #HillGroup #Peabody #OxfordCityCouncil

  • From Railways to Construction: Meet Graham, an engineering professional with 38 years of experience shaping the UK's transport infrastructure—including the award-winning Elizabeth Line—led to Hill. After taking a career break, Graham sought a new direction and has engaged with us on multiple occasions, leading to a hands-on work placement onsite: - Custom House Site Visit – As part of a Total Futures employment boot camp, Graham stepped onto a live project, gaining first-hand industry insights. - Careers Advice & Guidance (CIAG) Session – A meaningful discussion at Total Futures led to an invitation for a two-week work placement. - Work Placement at Eastwick & Sweetwater – Immersed in the production and technical teams at Eastwick and Sweetwater Phase 2, Graham gained valuable experience in a new sector, bridging his skills from transport infrastructure to residential development. At Hill, we're steadfast in creating opportunities—Graham's journey is a testament to the power of collaboration, mentorship, and structured career pathways that open doors to new possibilities. "Thanks for welcoming me onto your site for the past two weeks; it's been an enjoyable and beneficial educational experience. Although I come from a different engineering background, most of the design and manual procedures cross over in a very similar way." - Graham Raeburn #HillDevelopments #BuildingCareers #TotalFutures #EWSPhase2 #NCW2025

Empowering local change in Cambridge at the United for Cambridge Sleep Out! In a city where history meets innovation, too many still face the uncertainty of homelessness. #TeamHill spent a night at Cambridge United football ground to raise awareness and much-needed funds for two exceptional charities tackling homelessness in the city: Wintercomfort for the Homeless – provides essential food, shelter, and pathways to stability since 1991. Cambridge United Foundation -united-community-trust – uses sports and social programmes to support isolated and vulnerable residents. One night outside is but a glimpse into the daily struggles of those without a place to call home. All money raised from this Sleep out supports their work with the city's most vulnerable people. Well done to everyone who has contributed to making a tangible difference to a worthy cause. #UnitedForCambridge #TeamHill #WinterComfortForTheHomeless #CambridgeUnitedCommunityTrust

  • We were recently joined by our partner Hightown to celebrate progress onsite at Broadwater, where 128 new homes and a central communal green space are set to be delivered in Welwyn Garden City. This development is set to enhance community infrastructure with one and two-bedroom apartments that will support the evolving needs of local families and contribute to the area's vibrancy. In line with our commitment to sustainability and supporting local employment, Broadwater will feature modern design principles and eco-friendly elements, while also generating opportunities for local businesses. Robert Jack, Regional Director of Hill Group, added: “Reaching the ‘golden brick’ stage of this much needed affordable housing marks a pivotal moment in the construction of this significant development for Welwyn Garden City. Hill has a strong partnership with Hightown and Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and this project not only creates vital homes for the community, but also new communal spaces for residents to enjoy. ”
