An overseas donor was used by 51% of those needing donor sperm, according to our National Patient Survey report. Patients said this was mainly due to increased choice and more information about the donor available. Concerningly, around a third of these patients reported a lack of clarity on communication around the potential use of imported donor eggs or sperm by additional families outside the UK, with limits dependent on the country. Almost 80% of patients spoke to a GP before starting treatment. But NHS-funded patients reported longer wait times in starting treatment than self-funded patients after speaking to a GP. Most patients who reported delays attributed this to waiting for referrals, appointments, investigations, and/or needing further tests or surgery. Almost three-quarters used an additional test, treatment or emerging technology, most commonly additional medications or supplements, although most remain unproven at increasing the chance of having a baby. We encourage patients to use our treatment add-ons rating system and other website resources to help them make informed decisions about their treatment: https://lnkd.in/edqbwkp8 & https://lnkd.in/epySxbsh Read our National Patient Survey 2024 here: https://lnkd.in/eM8sTGRR #NPS2024 #Fertility

Our National Patient Survey found that 73% of patients were satisfied with their latest round of treatment. This is the third survey in a row where overall satisfaction was more than 70%. However, this varied by ethnicity, with Asian and Black patients least satisfied with their most recent treatment. Find out more in the report: https://lnkd.in/eM8sTGRR #NPS2024 #Fertility
