We are thrilled to be finalists in THREE UK National GO Awards 2025 categories: 🌟 Best Procurement Team 🌟 Best Procurement Delivery 🌟 Next Generation - Jonathan Williams “I am proud that our thoughtful, value-based approach to procurement has been recognised by the Go Awards. We believe that integrating patient input into procurement can be transformative in driving greater value across the supply chain. "Thought-provoking, honest, and energising." Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP), CEO Chris Gush has had a brilliant couple of days at the HSJ Provider Summit. It was a real privilege to hear from leaders including Sir Jim Mackey, Stella Vig, Sir Mike Richards, Sir Julian Hartley, Glen Burley, and Dr Penny Dash. One of the most consistent themes across the summit was the growing emphasis on data-informed decision-making. Commissioning based on outcomes, evidence and local population need is fundamental to achieving improvement at scale. This is where Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) can support. Through the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme and the National Joint Registry, we are supporting providers to use national clinical data as a lever for change. Not simply to report but to improve. Not just to measure but to act. Turning data into action must be at the heart of the next phase of health and care improvement. Plenty to reflect on. And a great deal to do. #HSJProvider #NHS #HealthcareLeadership #QualityImprovement

A new survey out today by the Royal College of Physicians finds that “nearly 90% of doctors warn that health inequalities are harming patients”: https://lnkd.in/eEssdWQV. While alarming, this is not surprising. However, the UK healthcare system has an invaluable resource at its disposal to address inequalities: data. HQIP’s Medical Director, Professor Danny Keenan, explains how data from clinical audits and registries often reveal variation in care and outcomes, identifying where to target resources… “Health inequalities are known to cause unjust and preventable differences in health outcomes. Research has shown that the implementation of a wide-ranging and diverse strategy to tackle these disparities can yield far-reaching outcomes, on both an individual and population health level. Healthcare data, such as that obtained from the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP) – commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) for the NHS - produces reliable and accurate data to develop our understanding of inequalities in health, and supports services to adapt accordingly." More specifically, audit reports highlight variation in access to services, quality of care, and patient outcomes across demographic groups, local geographies or levels of deprivation. This kind of data is essential for identifying where action is needed, whether that’s improving rehabilitation access in underserved communities or addressing differential outcomes in chronic disease management.
