    UKGI’s Financial Instruments and Transactions Advisory Group’s (FInTAG's) Annual Report on the UK Government’s Contingent Liabilities was published today. This report brings together data on £250bn (expected cost) of financial guarantees, indemnities, contingent liabilities, and provisions to help government better understand and manage its portfolio of risk. This a significant achievement that demonstrates government’s continued commitment to fiscal discipline, transparency and efficiency.   • GAD is advertising for a new non-executive director (NED) to support the department as it embraces and navigates a new strategic plan. We're looking for a forward-thinking non-executive director with experience in digital innovation and growth to play a key role in shaping our future success. The new NED will join the Board, consisting of 5 executive members and 3 non-executive directors. The appointment will replace an outgoing NED who is due to complete their term at the end of August 2025.   • GAD’s insights into the shape of the UK population and impact of demographic change were among topics discussed at the ‘Future of Ageing 2025: Planning for the long-term’ conference. The Government Actuary Fiona Dunsire participated in a panel on ‘Financial inclusion: Managing vulnerability across long lives.’ (pictured). The event was organised by the International Longevity Centre - UK (ILC-UK), as 2025 marks its 10th annual Future of Ageing conference, bringing together policymakers, business leaders and experts to discuss how the UK can create a vision for the 100-year life.
