Last week Global Health Partnerships (formerly THET) was one of the 107 organisations supporting this important initiative. By ending expensive asylum seeker housing contracts in favour of more appropriate and cost-effective options, we can restore critical funding to the #UKaid budget. We were delighted to launch the #GlobalHealthWorkforceProgramme in Malawi yesterday!   The #GHWP, funded by the UK Department of Health and Social Care and managed by Global Health Partnerships (formerly THET), is supporting #HealthPartnerships in the UK and Malawi to develop the Health Workforce for stronger, more resilient health systems and to advance progress towards #UHC.   Huge thanks to all who attended, and especially to our valued stakeholders Ministry Of Health Malawi, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, World Health Organization and of course the Health Partnerships!’

Strengthening Partnerships for Better Health Outcomes in Somaliland Earlier this week, I had the privilege of joining Richard Skone James Director of Programmes, and Ms. Nura Ayded Ebrahim, Country Director, for a courtesy visit to the University of Hargeisa on behalf of @ Global Health Partnership (formerly THET). We were warmly welcomed by Dr. Fuad Obsiye, Vice President for Academic and Research, reaffirming the strong and long-standing collaboration between our institutions. The meeting also brought together key representatives from the University’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences, including Dr. Jinow (Acting Dean), Dr. Roda Ali (GHP Board of Trustees member and faculty), and Ms. Adna (College management staff). Our discussions focused on the continued commitment to strengthening Somaliland’s health sector through impactful partnerships. Together, we reflected on past achievements in medical training, health system strengthening, and capacity building, and explored opportunities for further collaboration. We are deeply grateful for the warm reception and the spirit of partnership shown.
