The Delegation Meeting season continued this week in the United Kingdom, as members of the UK & Ireland Delegation gathered at Gilpin Hotel & Lake House in the Lake District, welcomed by Barney Cunliffe and Zoe C., and their dedicated team. Set against Cumbria's scenery, the meeting invited our members to slow down, connect, and reflect. After time spent walking and sharing conversations surrounded by nature, the MV Swift on Lake Windermere became the setting for focused work sessions, guided by the steering committee. Members had the space to seek advice, share their successes, compare experiences, and explore solutions to the key issues the industry's facing today.   Dinner at Source, Gilpin’s Michelin-starred restaurant, provided the perfect conclusion to the meeting, with a menu rooted in local produce and innovation.   #RelaisChateaux

This week our team were delighted to welcome hoteliers from the United Kingdom and Ireland Relais & Châteaux family for our regional delegation meeting along with the team from the association. It is such an honour to be chosen to host this event and we really wanted to deliver a meeting that reflected the spirit of Gilpin Hotel & Lake House and the beauty of the Lake District. Yesterday, we celebrated our team's Christmas lunch, a moment to reflect on a fantastic year and express our gratitude for the incredible hard work of our team. The festive three-course feast was a true collaboration: starters and desserts crafted by the talented chefs at Spice, with the main course prepared by the skilled SOURCE team. Adding to the fun, our Heads of Department, Helen, Harry, Harry and Thomas, stepped into the role of servers, looking especially festive in their Santa hats! With support from the professional chefs at both SOURCE and Spice, as well as the Spice team helping to serve, it was a true team effort. It was a joyful afternoon and a small way for us to say thank you. Here’s to Christmas, our amazing guests, and wishing the team every success throughout the festive season. Last Friday, executive chef Oliver Bridgwater wrapped up his final live cooking demo of 2024 at Lakeland’s flagship store in Windermere, sharing his Christmas Leftover Ruby Curry, a creative and delicious way to reinvent festive leftovers.
