We have been working together with Frontier Tech Hub for the last one year to scale up bioplastics market and production in Nepal. We have been able to get a lot of insights on market dynamics, efficient production process and most importantly, understanding the constraints that are holding us back.
We’ve seen firsthand the immense potential of circular economy solutions in resource constrained environments. From bioplastics in Nepal to transforming agricultural waste into silicon in Malaysia, we've learned some powerful lessons that can help accelerate this movement. Our latest report breaks down the key factors shaping success — and failure — for early-stage innovators in the circular economy. Through our work and interviews with partners, we’ve uncovered common barriers and unique opportunities to scaling circular economy innovations. Are you keen to support sustainable futures? We’re offering clear recommendations that add to how we think about scaling circular innovations. So, if you’re curious about what’s holding back the future of sustainability in resource constrained environments — and what you can do about it — read the full report. Some technologies capture the global narrative. AI, humanoid robots, self-driving cars, social media. We talk about them endlessly, invest our collective time and money in them, and in turn they narrow our gaze on how the future might unfold. Over the last 6 months, on behalf of the Frontier Tech Hub and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, I’ve led an amazing team investigating which technologies are falling under the radar. Want to know which technologies we landed on? 🎟️ Join us for an online event (Weds 23 April | 14:00 BST): https://lnkd.in/e3qHx_9t Learn about how we whittled down from 142 to 9 underhyped technologies, with the help of a Global Brain Trust. Not only do we believe these techs will have a big impact on people’s lives, but they open up more locally rooted, decentralised approaches for who builds, who funds, and who governs our technological future. See you there? 🙏🏽 A huge thank you Miguel, Ricardo and the amazing team at Pluriversa for making this work happen. And the Frontier Tech Hub team - Phil, Dr. Becky Faith, Antony, Lil, Bryony, Gita Luz, Alex - for being the best possible partners and colleagues on this journey. P.S. Link to our first underhyped technology in the comments👇🏽
