Ever wonder what we get up to over the course of a year ? Well, sit back, get a cuppa and watch our brand new mini documentary which highlights A Year in the Life of the Forth Rivers Trust. Over the course of 2022, Trust staff worked with The CASTABROAD Collective Ltd. to develop a mini documentary to showcase the pressures that rivers, wildlife and communities face here in the Forth and how we are trying to tackle just some of those pressures. We hope you enjoy the film as much as we enjoyed making it! https://lnkd.in/eNgiNAVi

🌍 Happy World Earth Day from all at Forth Rivers Trust! 🌍 Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 each year, promoting environmental protection and awareness. And today YOU can make a direct difference to rivers in the Forth catchment – by supporting our fundraiser to increase tree connectivity around rivers. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eycdyf4X Why do Riparian Trees matter? Here’s some quick facts: 🍃 Trees input material such as leaf litter into rivers, which can support a range of invertebrates and help boost biodiversity 🌳 Trees also provide shade, helping cool water temperatures and protect our important freshwater fish like salmon and trout 💧 Acting as natural filters, trees around rivers can help trap nutrients and pollutants and improve water quality 🌱 Riparian trees can help bind together and stabilise banks, reducing erosion and preventing the runoff of precious soil and silt into rivers Please share this post & help us reach our £20,000 goal! Donate at https://lnkd.in/eycdyf4X #RootedInRivers #GreenMatchFund #BigGive #RiparianRevival #PlantForFutureNature #DoubleYourImpact

Fish in the Class 2025 - it's a wrap! 🐟💙 It has been a week since our final fish release as part of the Fish in the Classroom project 2025, our yearly project educating the next generation about our environment. This year we worked with 8 schools around the catchment, with an estimated 260+ pupils rearing brown trout in their classrooms, learning about the environment, and connecting with their local river. We had a fantastic time and we hope all the young people did too. Here are just some of the photos from the action. A blog summarising the project from start to finish is coming soon... We would like to thank the organisations who funded the participation of schools in this project: thank you to the Anstruther Improvements Association, whose funding supported Anstruther Primary School and Colinsburgh Primary School, thank you to Highland Spring Ltd whose funding supported Blackford Primary School, and thank you to Fife Coast & Countryside Trust whose funding supported Dalgety Bay Primary and St John’s R C Primary. Thanks also goes out to Dunblane Primary, whose pupils performed a production of Crikey Moses, fundraising and choosing to donate to the Trust to support the continued delivery of Fish in the Class. Endless thanks and well done to all 👏 Once again, a big thank you to our funders who make this work possible, to the schools, the teachers, and to the pupils who did such an amazing job looking after their brown trout – we hope you’re all enjoying your holidays now! You can help the Trust continue this important work, bringing environmental education to young people around the Forth catchment - please consider leaving a donation to support Fish in the Classroom at https://lnkd.in/eFTEVYc7. #FishInTheClass2025 #FishInTheClass #EnvironmentalEducation #OutdoorEducation #LoveYourLocalRiver #Biodiversity #SalmoTrutta #NatureLearning
