We are ellenor, the only charity in Kent to provide hospice care for people of all ages – babies, children and adults. We offer pain and symptom relief, end of life care, respite, bereavement support and emotional and spiritual care. Adults living in Gravesham, Dartford and Swanley receive care in their place of choice; including their own home, our hospice in Gravesend or a local care home. Our Children’s Hospice Care is provided in the comfort of the family home and spans across Kent and the London Borough of Bexley. We rely on the generosity of our local communities to allow us to continue helping thousands of families facing terminal illness each year. 🎨 Happy National Art Day! To celebrate, we’re shining a light on an inspiring creative project at Shears Green Junior School. Over the past five weeks, 10 Year 5/6 pupils have taken part in our Needles & Knots and Arts & Crafts sessions, exploring everything from embroidery and weaving to painting and sculpture. Their creations include stunning canvas paintings inspired by their view of the garden and ellenor building offering a heartfelt glimpse through their eyes. These sessions have nurtured creativity, boosted confidence, and supported wellbeing for both children and adults alike. Through shared expression, they’ve learned focus, collaboration, and valuable life skills like patience and perseverance. This project has been such a success, we’re excited to welcome a new group of 10 children at the end of April. Our fantastic team at ellenor joined the Vaisakhi celebrations over the weekend. Vaisakhi, also called Baisakhi, is the festival which celebrates the founding of the Sikh community, the Khalsa, in 1699. At ellenor, we honour the rich cultural traditions of our patients, families, staff and volunteers.
