🎶 Spotlight on Josh: A Rising Star in Music! 🎶 One of our talented music students, Josh, recently had the exciting opportunity to gain work experience backstage with the renowned tribute act, Dont Stop Queen Now, who tour all over the UK. Josh assisted the band during their performance at the Beverley Memorial Hall. He was instrumental in setting up the stage, offering valuable feedback during soundcheck, and ensuring smooth communication throughout the show. The band praised Josh's contributions, noting that his presence was an asset to the performance. We’re confident he’ll have a successful career in the music or performing arts industry. Some great work experience for our Joinery students over in our Bridlington campus. Who wouldn't want to spend the day with penguins! 🐧 Our learners built a new roof as the penguins at Sewerby Hall and Gardens were in need of one for their accommodation ✨

Our talented joinery students teamed up with Eastrington Village Hall to tackle their storage issues. Caroline Scargill reached out for help with the cluttered space under the stage, where various groups store items like keep fit mats, tables, and maintenance equipment. The students crafted seven custom-designed drawers with collapsible handles and locking wheels, featuring unique plaited rope handles. Their impressive work was presented to the East Riding Area Village Hall members, showcasing our students' skills and opening doors for future projects. This initiative not only provided valuable work experience but also supported our local community. 🙌 

Congratulations to Commis Chef apprentice, Ruby, who was placed second in the UNOX CombiGuru Challenge in Venice, Italy. 👏 Ruby competed against 39 other colleges, and showcased her culinary skills by creating a stunning main course and dessert to impress the judges. Well done Ruby! We are all incredibly proud of your achievement. Enjoy the rest of your time in Venice!
