🌍 Boston: A City of Innovation, Sustainability & Community Action This week I am learning a lot about the great action, innovation and impact coming out of #Boston! It's a city that’s not just rich in history but also paving the way for a sustainable and equitable future. From green energy to community-led solutions, there’s incredible momentum here that deserves a shout-out. ⚡ Boston’s Green New Deal – The city is on track for 100% renewable energy by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2040, with a strong focus on transportation justice and equitable housing. 🏡 Massachusetts Community Climate Bank (MCCB) – The first green bank in the U.S. focused on decarbonising affordable housing, blending public and private investment for climate justice. ☀️ Community-Led Solar in Dorchester, Mattapan & Roxbury – A grassroots project expanding clean energy access while reducing costs and creating local jobs. 🌊 Offshore Wind Expansion – The SouthCoast Wind project will generate 2.4 gigawatts of renewable energy, powering 840,000+ homes. A game-changer for the region! 🌿 The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway – A stunning 17-acre urban park where a highway once stood, transforming city space into a hub for art, culture, and public engagement. Boston is proving that climate action and community impact go hand in hand. It is positive action like this that fuels the Earth Cubs production pipeline - locally contextual content for the US, global inspiration for the rest of us.
