  • 🌍This World Autism Acceptance Month, we're taking the time to listen, learn, and lead with empathy, ensuring that every voice is heard, every difference is celebrated, and every individual can thrive. We spoke to two E.ON colleagues who shared their experiences, helping us understand how we can better support our autistic colleagues and create an environment where neurodiversity is actively considered and celebrated. 👉 Read their insight and experiences here: https://gloo.to/FXxt. #playmaker #socialimpact #WorldAutismAcceptanceWeek

  • We’re proud to sponsor the ADE’s upcoming report launch: Electrification of Dispersed Industrial Sites: What Industry Needs to Make Electrification a Reality. With up to 78% of industrial emissions already electrifiable using existing technologies—and up to 90% by 2035—there’s a clear opportunity to accelerate decarbonisation. But many industrial sites outside the UK’s recognised clusters still face barriers to electrification. This report, informed by industry workshops and research, tackles these challenges head-on—offering insights into what’s needed to make industrial electrification a reality. Grant Barr, Business Development Manager at E.ON Heat UK will be in attendance to discuss driving forward solutions that will help industry meet the UK’s Net Zero goals. #NetZero #Decarbonisation #Electrification The Association for Decentralised Energy

  • A hospital that’s warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and on track for net zero? That’s the future we’re helping to build at Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham. Through our 15-year partnership, we’re working to transform one of the UK’s largest hospitals, making it greener, more energy-efficient, and cheaper to run: ✅ 12,000 double-glazed windows – improving comfort for patients and staff ✅ A £15m energy centre – harnessing heat from 250m underground for low-carbon heating and cooling ✅ 10,000 tonnes of CO₂ savings every year – equal to taking 2,200+ cars off the road But there’s more to the story. Sustainable hospitals are just one piece of the puzzle. A healthier planet means healthier people—and better homes reduce the need for healthcare in the first place. That’s why we’re also working with communities to make homes more energy-efficient, lower bills, and improve quality of life. 📖 Read more in our latest The Guardian article: https://ow.ly/shOW50VoIZZ. #Innovation #NetZero #SustainableEnergy #Playmaker

A pupil from a Coventry primary school is quite literally helping E.ON Next drive the transition to net zero. Fredrica, aged 11, from Aldermoor Farm Primary School has won a competition to have her design brought to life as the eye-catching wrap for E.ON Next’s newest electric vans. 🚚 The vans will transport E.ON Next engineers to homes around Coventry and the surrounding area, installing smart meters and other sustainable energy solutions. The competition is part of E.ON’s pioneering 15-year partnership with Coventry City Council, helping to make the city more sustainable 🗨️Phil Gilbert, Director of Net Zero Delivery at E.ON Next, said: “The only way we’ll deliver our new energy world is if everyone feels energised and enthusiastic about a more sustainable future. And this initiative, as part of our Strategic Energy Partnership with Coventry Council, does exactly that.” Read more: https://gloo.to/FXiz. #socialimpact #electricvehicles #sustainability

  • We’re excited to share a major milestone in our journey to make solar energy the standard for every home.☀️⚡ Since 2020, we’ve worked alongside Eco2Solar Ltd, helping to further their reputation as one of the UK’s most trusted solar energy partners for housing developers. To date, Eco2Solar have brought cleaner, greener power to tens of thousands of homes — generating around 85 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity (that’s enough to power 2.7 billion cups of tea!). The full acquisition of Eco2Solar strengthens the UK’s solar market, supports more homeowners in making the switch towards renewable power sources, and drives the clean energy transition forward. We can’t wait to take this next step, making solar energy more accessible and ensuring a net-zero future for all. • Energy that thinks for itself. What if your EV didn’t just charge - but also helped balance the grid? What if buildings could store heat and release it exactly when needed? What if we stopped wasting energy and started making it work harder? That’s sector coupling — connecting electricity, heat, transport and industry into one seamless system. Sounds great, right? The tricky part is making it all run smoothly. But with SecoSim, our innovative simulation tool, we can balance supply and demand, making sure energy goes exactly where it’s needed - helping cities and businesses ditch waste and cut costs. Which means… 💡 Smarter charging 🔥 Efficient heating 📊 Real-time insights ♻️ Less CO₂, lower bills, more impact Read more: https://gloo.to/FwZn

  • Decarbonising heat is one of the biggest challenges on the road to Net Zero. In Berlin, innovative district heating solutions—like river-source heat pumps—are already replacing fossil fuels. As British policymakers consider the future of low-carbon heat, international best practices like these can help shape the UK’s strategy. The recent visit by UK Ambassador Andrew Mitchell to E.ON’s Schöneweide site highlights the importance of collaboration in driving the energy transition forward. Scaling solutions like these in the UK will require the right policy frameworks and investment. Learn more below. #NetZero #EnergyTransition #LowCarbonHeat #DistrictHeating

Heat transition inspired by Berlin – decarbonisation in action 🌍🔥 How can we successfully transition urban heating systems to sustainable solutions? A glance at Berlin shows how innovative technologies are replacing fossil fuels and making sustainable heating a functioning reality. At the heating power plant Schöneweide by BTB GmbH Berlin, heat pumps extract environmental energy from the Spree River, contributing alongside other heat sources to Berlin’s heat supply. This innovative approach has caught international attention: British Ambassador to Germany Andrew Mitchell visited the site where the managing directors of BTB, David Weiblein and Oliver Zernahle, together with Anna Jasper-Martens, our CCO, presented E.ON’s vision for a sustainable heating future. The visit included a deeper look at the river water heat pump and its role in decarbonising Berlin’s district heating system. Mike Müller, Head of District Heating at BTB, explained how utilising energy from the Spree supports future-oriented district solutions and contributes to the energy transition. The future of the site is even more innovative, with a strong focus on geothermal energy. Current developments, regulatory frameworks, and funding opportunities were further key discussion points of the delegation, with the UK identified as a key market. Anna Jasper Martens, E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions: "We are excited to share our projects in the spirit of the EIS vision, contributing to a more sustainable future for heating. Cross-sector and international collaboration are essential for effective knowledge transfer." #sustainable #energytransition #energyinfrastructuresolutions
