  • “If it wasn’t for the fast, quick-thinking actions of your driver, Alan Wilson and his operator, Mark Rhodes, the pedestrian involved in a road traffic incident today would have lost her leg.” That’s what the police officer on the scene of a recent car accident had to say about our quick-thinking colleagues who rushed to help an injured pedestrian. Alan and Mark witnessed the accident and then used a car jack to reduce the pressure on the pedestrian’s leg, preventing an even more serious injury. Martin Milliner, Managing Director of Claims, was also quick to add his praise, “I was so proud to hear that Alan and Mark’s quick-thinking and willingness to go above and beyond may well have completely changed the outcome of an awful accident. Their readiness to help in a difficult situation just goes to show what amazing people we have at DLG. They should be really proud!" Great job, Alan and Mark! #HeroicActions #CommunityHeroes

  • “The Green Flag patrol expansion continues. More people helped. More breakdowns fixed. More reasons to be proud. Let’s do this, London!” That’s what Katie Lomas, Managing Director of Rescue, had to say when she announced plans to expand Green Flag patrols into London. The phased launch will begin in Buckinghamshire at the end of March and head into North London in May. This is great news for our customers, as it means our expert teams will be on hand to help with tyres, batteries, and other common issues at the roadside, reducing the time it takes to get cars moving again. The launch also marks a significant milestone in our expansion plans, and Katie acknowledged the effort involved, adding, “A huge thanks to everyone who’s been part of making this happen.” Do you want to be part of the Green Flag story? • As part of building a high-performance culture, we’re committed to supporting our Technical Graduates and giving them the skills and experiences they need to grow. That’s why our Motor Fulfilment Area Manager, Margo Lamkin, arranged for one of our Technical Graduates to spend a day in the life of an External Engineer. Maddie is currently studying for her ATA VDA Accreditation with DLG Auto Services in Middlewich. To see what the job involves, Maddie spent the day on the road with Shaun and discovered how our engineers manage our repair costs, support with identifying Fraud, and, most importantly, make sure that our customers receive the right outcome with a brilliant experience. Thanks to Shaun and Margo, and best of luck to Maddie! You’ve got a great career ahead of you 😊 #Graduate #Apprenticeship #DLG #engineer
