Last week, we were invited to the Black Health Inequalities Summit, where our team had the opportunity to connect, listen, and learn – gaining valuable insights into research priorities for Black communities. Hearing from powerful speakers, including Levi Roots, on the higher risk of type 2 diabetes in Black communities reinforced the need for greater awareness and prevention efforts. A huge thank you to the Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN) and LDN inspire for an inspiring event that celebrated progress, while making clear the urgent work still ahead in tackling health inequities 💙

Last week, our Professional Conference wrapped up in Glasgow, leaving us motivated by the latest in diabetes research. Here are some of our key findings: • The UK is edging closer to identifying and treating type 1 diabetes in its earliest stages – offering the chance to delay a diagnosis • Diabetes stigma is widespread and global majority communities are more likely to face it • The UK’s world-leading diabetes data collection has been a powerful tool for improving care and driving change where it’s needed most • More people are developing type 2 diabetes at younger ages, with health inequalities playing a key role 👉 Want to dive deeper?
