It's ok to be scared... My wife said to me earlier "Dave I am scared" which after being diagnosed with cancer then undergoing surgery on wednesday, which was as successful as it could be, and then having a further emergency op on friday, due to internal bleeding, this is completely understandable. Who would not be scared? However, like anything in life, focusing on the end goal is vitally important, even if at times it feels like your going backwards before going forwards. It has probably has been the longest 19 weeks of our life but this post is all about the apple of my eye, my wife.. 19 weeks ago we were given news that no one would want and to be honest has taken many weeks to get our head around it... However despite fighting for every appointment, today my wife undergoes an operation which all of women would dread, but is ready to fight the cancer battle. Your family and friends are 100% here to support you so remember to remain positive, fight unconditionally and look forward to the future with optimism x PS We kept ourselves busy at the weekend and won at horse racing so lets hope that good luck stays with us #fightingcancer

🔨 You've secured the land and are ready to build, but how do you fund it? 🏗️ Here's a quick breakdown: 1️⃣ Initial Appraisal: Assess your build costs, which are split into packages starting from the ground up. 2️⃣ Build Phases: From substructure to superstructure and becoming watertight, and finally, the internal fit out with first and second fixes. 3️⃣ Materials & Labour: Ensure you have everything on site as you progress. 4️⃣ Funding: During the DD process, the QS (Quantity Surveyor) assesses costs and allocates funds to each package. As materials are delivered and stages are completed, the QS certifies your progress. You’ll then draw down the funds, usually within a week of their site visit.
