ITSGWORLD Wrexham, welcomed the City of Mentor, Ohio, to Wrexham yesterday. the interaction and exchange of information made this an outstanding event and cemented our future collaboration. #internationaltrade #businessintheusa
As the City of Mentor, Ohio International Trade Initiative continued its mission in the United Kingdom, it was evident that the appetite for investment in the American market and intrigue into our program’s concierge based approach to helping international companies access the U.S., despite recent changes to federal tariffs, remains quite fervent. Gathering with partners from Science & Engineering Health Technologies Alliance (SEHTA), we had the opportunity to present to over thirty medtech-oriented companies and organizations from throughout Southeast England regarding the benefits of doing business in Mentor and Northeast Ohio. Following the discussion, there were many one-on-one conversations regarding individuals’ research on entering the U.S. market and plans for establishing a beachhead in a particular American location. Special thanks to Neil Roberts, Clare Ansett, and Sandra Tracey for working with us to put on such a spectacular afternoon. Medilink Midlands has enjoyed a critical relationship with the City of Mentor since they first sent trade delegations our way in 2018 and 2019. We had the opportunity to sit down with several of their companies to discuss their expansion plans and chat with former chairman keith widdowson. We are quite grateful to Andrea Dawson, Zoe Heather, and Linsey Horsepool (Hardy) for putting together such productive discussions for us. We also had the opportunity to visit with our Enterprise Bridge partners (think economic sister city), Ashfield District Council to chat about our goings-on within our respective businesses communities (Paul Stoppard, Melanie Wheelwright) and visit with Addfield Projects and Derek Carr to learn about their customer opportunities in the U.S. an how we might be of assistance. Keith Stringer MCIEx, Clive Barnard, and patricia carlin from our friends at the ITSG World Ltd welcomed us to Wrexham once again, where we had a warm greeting from Lord Mayor of Wrexham, Beryl Blackmore, and Councillor Nigel Williams. We had the chance to meet with several innovative Welsh companies on their U.S. expansion plans and discussed potential visits for them to the U.S. in the near future. Our visits concluded with a tour and involved discussion with Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool) (KQ Liverpool) and companies at the pioneering Sci-Tech Daresbury, where we’ve had regular interactions with firms on the cutting edge of the latest technologies. Special thanks to Margaret Bourke for coordinating our visits in Wrexham and the Liverpool area. Even with changes and evolutions in trade policy, there is substanital interest in the United States, the largest consumer market in the world, and the International Trade Intiative stands ready to assist with an innovative approach to the North American market.

Three Welsh ports have been shortlisted for contracts to develop offshore wind farm projects with turbines as high as skyscrapers in the Celtic Sea. Swansea, Port Talbot and Milford Haven face rival bids from Bristol, Falmouth and Plymouth for the development of three new floating wind farms. The turbines could be up to 300m (984ft) tall - almost as high as Shangri-La The Shard, London - and sit on a football pitch-sized platform. The projects will be capable of generating enough renewable energy capacity to power more than four million homes, and would also create up to 5,000 jobs, the Crown Estate said.
