About us
Cumbria CVS is a membership organisation providing infrastructure support to the third (community and voluntary/charitable) sector and was established as a result of the merger of 5 District CVS in 2007. We work with a wide range of groups and organisations from small community groups to large voluntary organisations. The special interests of the groups we work with include faith, environment, equality and diversity, disability, sport, health, social care and social enterprise. Cumbria CVS is managed by a Board of Trustees drawn from our membership and other organisations. Services are delivered by a team of people experienced in delivering quality support to third sector organisations.

Looking for #funding? Our portal makes searching for Government, National Lottery and charitable trust funding simple for charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises delivering services in #Cumbria. The self-service portal makes it easy for groups to search for funding for specific activities or services by category, geographic area and more once they have registered. Supported by a user guide and ‘how to’ videos, the portal allows organisations to access vital funding opportunities directly. To access the portal, follow this link to register: https://lnkd.in/gEE8R25B The portal forms part of a range of support available from the This Is Us project, thanks to funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund via Westmorland and Furness Council. NB: Organisations must have an annual turnover of £1 million or less & be seeking funding for their own specific needs, rather than on behalf of others.

Our CEO, Carolyn Otley, has had another busy month, including a Landrover-based visit to Parliament with Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team. The long day out was part of a push to (re)establish the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Volunteer Rescue Services.
