"If you haven’t written Python since birth, don’t bother applying." 💬 said no good hiring manager ever. But it feels that way sometimes, doesn’t it? I’ve spoken to so many developers recently who are more than capable of picking up Python - yet they’re getting overlooked because they’ve got a background in C#, Java, Go, Rust etc. Here’s the thing: A good developer is tech agnostic. ✅ They understand fundamentals. ✅ They learn fast. ✅ They solve problems - with whatever tools are needed. So why do some teams still treat Python like an exclusive club? If you’re a dev trying to break into Python: ⚡ Build something. Anything. Automate a boring task. Write a script. Show you can think Pythonically. ⚡ Learn the ecosystem: Flask, Django, FastAPI, pytest, etc. ⚡ Contribute to open source. It’s your fastest path to credibility. ⚡ Talk about why you’re transitioning - hiring managers buy into your journey, not just your stack. And if you’re a hiring manager… 💡 Ask yourself: are you hiring a Python developer or a problem solver? Let’s stop gatekeeping tech stacks and start recognising potential.
