During late March 2025, the ConnectWise #CRU reviewed several incidents typical of many #cybercriminals who use an attack chain composed of commodity #malware tools, but with a final payload we did not recognize. Further analysis determined it to be a newer commodity #infostealer called Xerph Stealer that likely entered the market around May 2024. While the infostealer itself is rudimentary in operation compared to many other prominent commodity infostealers on the market, the low price and frequent updates by the developer may indicate that this malware could grow in usage and capability over time.
