"A specific scheme that encourages more private capital to be deployed to companies like Chemastery (deep techs) would enable more scientific innovation to be commercialised. By lowering the barrier for these start-ups getting sufficient funding for their missions, the UK will take further leadership in its funding position on the world stage." Advances in Chemical Technology Second trip to London in 3 days. The first for leisure, great lunch followed by a trip to the theatre. Yesterday though back to work, albeit some work days are more fun than others. It was my first visit to CheMastery Group Ltd since 2022! Time flies. Had a great time talking chemistry, software, hardware, automation, process development, business development, entrepreneurship, funding and a multitude of other topics with Anna Andreou. We also brainstormed and fleshed out some exciting ideas on how CheMastery Group Ltd and CatSci Ltd can work together to push forwards the goals of both companies and also those of our customers and partners. At CatSci Ltd we are always looking to find ways to enhance our offerings to our customers and new technologies are a key aspect of this. CheMastery Group Ltd continue to make huge progress in the development of their platform, both hardware and software. Robust platforms which can run high quality, process relevant experiments in a lights out, 24/7 manner, are a hugely important target for process development organisations. Over the last 5 years CheMastery have developed and built a platform which can now be operated in this manner, offering experiments across a range of scales. It’s always exciting to get involved in discussions with companies who are looking to change the way that we operate in the industry and who share similar goals and values to our own at CatSci Ltd. I feel really lucky to have opportunities to engage in these type of conversations. Thanks again to Anna and CheMastery for hosting me and for continuing to drive forward their platform. Chemistry is bias. We use the same reactions over and over again because of personal knowledge and experience. But chemistry has had a solution for a while. Powerful DoE models, that search through the chemical space without bias. However, without bias means running hundreds and thousands of experiments which is practically, financially and resource-wise unfeasible.
