As part of our ongoing community engagement, we were pleased to host children from Highfield Nursery and Crescent Nursery this week for a special Easter Egg Hunt in the new Edgbaston Village Community Garden, ahead of our official opening next month. A powerful morning of ideas and insight at Let’s Talk West Midlands last week - an event hosted by the British Property Federation in partnership with Avison Young. Our Chief Executive, Haydn Cooper, joined a fantastic panel chaired by Helen Collins of Avison Young, alongside West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker, Selina Mason, Lendlease and Harry Badham, Hammerson, to dive into the forces shaping the future of our region from sustainable growth and housing delivery to breaking down barriers that slow progress. The message was clear: when stakeholders are aligned, decisions get made faster and our communities benefit sooner. At Calthorpe Estates, we’re committed to playing our part in creating a more resilient, inclusive, and investable West Midlands. Because progress happens when the right people come together and today, we were in great company. A renewed commitment with Barker Brettell LLP at 100 Hagley Road 🌱🏢 We’re pleased to have completed a lease renewal with Barker Brettell LLP intellectual legal services over three floors at 100 Hagley Road, reaffirming their long-standing presence on the Calthorpe Estate. 🌱 Growing connections with nature and community 🌱   Earlier this week, the Calthorpe Estates team stepped out of the office and into the fresh air to volunteer at Birmingham Settlement’s Nature & Wellbeing Centre – a remarkable eco-friendly space just a few minutes from the estate next to Edgbaston Reservoir in Ladywood.   Our team worked together to extend a log-lined path by 25 metres, creating a sustainable walkway that will link the outdoor Amphitheatre to the centre’s soon-to-open Forest School. We also revitalised and repainted the centre’s community composting area, used to help strengthen their environmental and educational programmes.   It was a privilege to support a project that champions sustainability, wellbeing, and climate education for the local community. Exploring two of our buildings, they gained valuable hands-on experience with heritage and mixed-use properties considering letting marketing strategies and methods of enhancing rent through marketing, and therefore asset value.
