And that’s a wrap - thank you to all who attended the #BCISymposium2025! 💥 We’ve had a jam-packed day with 19 technical presentations, 7 quickfire presentations, 2 keynote speeches and a panel session led by industry experts! It's always encouraging to witness the interactions between our students and our industry guests, be it questions about student research, discussions around careers, or tips from BCI alumni on how to look after your wellbeing when working on a thesis. 👏 A special thanks goes to our industry panellists – Dr Faye Smith OBE, Konstantina Kanari PhD, Laura Veldenz, Sayata Ghose, Jon Meegan and Malin Åkermo for joining us today and providing important, educational conversations. 🎨 Helen Frost thank you for creating another wonderful graphic visualisation of the day! You can see Helen working in these photos, and the finished piece will be available to see on our website soon. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s Symposium! #BCI #ISCECDT #CoSEMCDT #CompositesResearch University of Bristol Engineering University of Bristol National Composites Centre

We’re halfway through this year’s Symposium! Thank you to our Session 1 and 2 technical speakers, chaired by Dr Joseph Soltan EngD and Dr Bethany Grimes respectively, and our Quickfire presenters, chaired by Dr Ali Kandemir. The speakers have covered a fascinating array of topics and have received many quality questions from our audience. ⭐ There is a poster session taking place over the lunch break which will showcase an impressive 48 research posters by our PhD and EngD students – if you are with us today, make sure to visit the two poster rooms! 🗣️ We will then hear from our second keynote speaker of the day, Dr Konstantina Kanari PhD from National Composites Centre and our final group of technical presenters, before finishing the day with our industry-led panel discussion. #BCISymposium2025 #BCI #CompositesResearch University of Bristol Engineering University of Bristol
