AI on Tour: Fraunhofer Austria KI-Mobil visits Blum 🤖 Last week, the KI-Mobil from Fraunhofer Austria stopped by Plant 4 – bringing hands-on AI straight to our team! Two groups of 16 colleagues explored five exciting applications, from VR experiences to automated shift planning. The energy was incredible – with lots of curiosity, great questions, and tons of ideas! Topics like data quality, human-in-the-loop, and real-world AI use cases sparked lively discussions. From setup optimization to predictive maintenance, the input from our colleagues was spot on. Some ideas are already in motion – and for our IT, this kind of exchange is "pure gold". ✨ We also took a closer look at image recognition in Plant 4 and are excited to keep the collaboration with Fraunhofer going strong!

Microsoft Copilot Roadshow stops at Blum. 💻👾 How can companies effectively implement generative AI and utilize it in various work processes? Tech giant Microsoft provided answers to these and other questions about artificial intelligence at today's Copilot Roadshow at our Plant 2 in Höchst. We had the pleasure of hosting the roadshow, offering a stage to various speakers from Microsoft , SOLVION , and ILF Consulting Engineers to demonstrate how Microsoft Copilot can transform daily work, making it easier and more productive - including a live demo. Artificial intelligence has been used at Blum for many years. Advanced analyses, predictions, and optimizations based on algorithms and machine learning are already deployed in various areas. New AI technologies like large language models are applied in production, translation management, marketing, and even in preventing food waste in our cafeteria. Hosting the event was a natural choice for us since we co-developed the intranet platform "Viva Connections" with Microsoft back in 2021, becoming one of the early adopters of the solution, and because we greatly value our partnership. It was an exciting and informative day for all attendees, as they got a sneak peek into the future of work with AI! Let's see what the future holds. 😎

Transforming furniture - and the future. 🪑😌 Our office furniture lasts up to 30 years before eventually being dismantled and recycled. In our workshop, around 800 chairs alone get a facelift each year - from workshop chairs to exclusive exhibition pieces. We replace armrests, seat cushions, springs and broken table parts, we adjust ergonomics and clean from top to bottom - all to make old furniture feel brand new again. For the past 28 years, we've championed resource conservation and sustainable renewal. This approach saves money and gives old furniture a new lease on life. A win-win for our business, our employees and the environment.

A visit from Luxemburg: Strengthening EU relations and business opportunities! 🤞 Yesterday we had the honour of a visit from Luxembourg: Ambassador Jean Graff and the honorary consul Armand Hausmann visited together with Philipp Blum our production plant. We discussed why we need a strong EU, what our needs are as an industrial company and what adjustments can be made to increase the attractiveness of the EU as a business location. 🌍 📂 We regularly exchange ideas with our customers, other companies, politicians and diplomats as we are convinced that we can achieve more together and that personal dialogue is a valuable asset.

Diplomacy meets Innovation: Blum welcomes U.S. Embassy Vienna. 🗽🙌 Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting Chargé d'affaires Kami Witmer, Senior Commercial Officer Ken Walsh and Cultural Attaché Juan José Germán from the U.S. Embassy in Austria. Our discussions covered a wide range of topics including bilateral trade relations, tariffs, steel production, and how Blum can best collaborate economically with the United States. The delegation also took a tour of our showroom and production facilities, getting a closer look at all things driving Blum. 🤝

Blum shines in Austrian Patent Ranking 🌟 We are proud to share that the Austrian Patent Office Österreichisches Patentamt has unveiled its annual report and statistics on invention and innovation for 2024 - and we've been ranked second among the top inventors with a total of 61 new patent applications in the last year! 🏆📈 CEO Martin Blum eloquently states: "Innovative, durable products are our lifeline, and patent protection is both proof of performance and security. We're proud of our developers' creativity and technical competence that has placed us at the forefront of the Austrian patent ranking. This recognition reaffirms that we are on the right path." 🚀
