What a week it's been here at Blue Ribbon! 🎉 Here at Blue Ribbon, we have had an incredibly busy and exciting week filled with various activities and events! One of the highlights of our week was a charity event organized by one of the people we support. The event was held to raise funds for the charity "Turn2us," which provides essential support to bereaved families who are facing financial crises. The theme of the day was Disney, and it was a huge success! 💙 In addition to the charity event, Willow Lodge also hosted their very own Eid Celebration Party. The party was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together, enjoy some delicious food, and celebrate the end of Ramadan. We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part in these events and look forward to many more in the future.

Blue Ribbon Health and Wellbeing is an innovative, vibrant and pro-active based support provider of specialist services for people with learning disabilities and autism whom may exhibit behaviour that could be termed as challenging, regulated by the Care Quality Commission. Our aim is to create an outcome based person centred service that delivers support which focuses on the personal, social, emotional, physical and psychological benefits of active participation using the 5 Ways to Wellbeing approach. Blue Ribbon’s ambition is to become a recognised specialist provider in Lancashire and surrounding areas for providing an outcome focused service through positive risk taking. We will be invest significantly into BILD accredited positive behaviour support training for all our staff, focusing on a proactive approach to supporting people to lead fulfilled lives. We will work in partnership with all multi-disciplinary teams to deliver an holistic approach. Blue Ribbon Health & Wellbeing have converted a large detached property into a 6 bedroomed specialist residential service in Preston, Lancashire. This specialist autism service will be for male and female young people aged 16 to 18 years adults aged 18 to 65 years who may present behaviour which may challenge. Located in the heart of Preston, our home is low stimulus, homely and provides a relaxed environment, whilst offering a bespoke robust design. The property is safe and secure and accessed via double iron gates. Situated in approximately 0.55 of an acre of private gardens the property is located just of Millbrook Way a stone’s throw from Booths supermarket, a local pub and the beautiful Hurst Grange Park. Conveniently located on all major bus routes and within easy walking distance to Penwortham centre. The property is split in to 3 parts and has a large lay out offering accommodation to 4 individuals in the main house and 2 individuals in the separate annexes.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting our newly developed bungalows that have been designed for individuals with Learning Disabilties and Autism, who are ready to step down from inpatient services. Each bungalow features a separate lockable kitchen, anti ligature bathrooms and fixtures, sensory lighting throughout, and access to a private outdoor space. At Blue Ribbon we are committed to creating environments, and proving specialist support, that empower individuals to increase their independence and confidence in a home they can call their own. To see two of the people we support thriving in their new homes really did make my Monday! 💙

There’s no winding down for Christmas here! 🚀 Only 6 weeks ago, we completed on these 5 new build houses. We’re now almost ready to receive contractor handover; following a programme of works to ensure each environment is tailored to the needs of our client group. Each property offers sizeable single occupancy accommodation, robust and anti ligature fixtures, and offers a safe and private outdoor space. Most importantly, they will provide much needed #homesnothospitals for individuals stepping down from inpatient services. We are thrilled to announce that our services will be participating in a series of monthly charity football matches, where each service will face off against one another while raising funds for their chosen charities. A massive congratulations is in order for Raven House, who delivered an impressive performance with a commanding 9-2 victory over Church Road! Better luck next time! 😊 We are already looking forward to the next match, which will be announced in January. A new service will be selected at random to challenge the reigning champions, ensuring that everyone has a chance to shine on the pitch. In addition to their remarkable win, Raven House also raised a fantastic total of £140 for their chosen charity, Emmaus UK. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed and supported to this worthy charity.
