Updates

  • BGG is cooperative of independent growers. One of the benefits of being in a cooperative is shared collaboration on technical issues. Our grower days are highly valued by our members and are always well attended. In 2025 we have 7 grower days throughout the UK, which we hope our members will encourage their teams, at all levels, to attend.

  • Berry Garden Growers is a co-operative of 32 independent soft fruit growers situated across the UK. We are also a ‘Producer Organisation’ (PO). Currently the Fruit & Vegetable Scheme, which is accessed by PO’s, comes to an end this year. The Scottish Government has announced a continuation of the scheme for Scottish growers starting in 2026. English growers are still waiting for an answer from the UK Government, which is due by the end of April. The continuation of the F&V scheme is important not just for the soft fruit sector but for all fruit and veg sectors. £1.11bn of sales go through UK PO’s annually. Next week BGG will start its annual tour of our members, talking about this years F&V scheme and next years possible F&V scheme. We very much hope English growers will be given the same opportunities as Scottish growers, to allow us to continue to trade on a level playing field with our European competitors.

  • As we wind down our activities at the BGG Trial Site for another year, we must say goodbye to our seasonal workers. We have prepared a little farewell party for them as a small token of thanks for their hard work - our trials just wouldn't happen without them. Cheerio to you for now and Thank You!
