BARSC Member Company, SPECTO NATURA LIMITED is part of a winning team for European #land cover and use platform: https://lnkd.in/dgYR2U45 The #Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) has announced the signing of a new contract to support the ongoing development and operation of the #CLCplus Core platform. With this renewed commitment, Altia European Services and Bilbomática, an Altia Company, in partnership with ALSO Space, Specto Natura and Planetek Italia, will help ensure the CLMS can continue to empower stakeholders with flexible, high-quality tools for sustainable land monitoring across Europe. Geoff Smith, CEO of Specto Natura commented: "Harmonisation and efficient exploitation of geospatial information remain a challenge, particularly now that monitoring, rather than just #mapping, is vital to the effective use of #environmental information." "CLCplus Core, at the heart of the CLCplus product suite, delivers this through the provision of a consistent, flexible and extendible thematic information engine based in the EAGLE land characterisation approach. This paradigm shift presents great opportunities, but also requires great outreach to the geospatial community to explain the concepts, train in the operation and support the development of downstream applications." Developed through cooperation between Eionet’s #EAGLE expert group and stakeholders across the European Environment Agency, CLCplus allows for customised, policy-relevant land monitoring. CLCplus Core enables the creation of tailor-made #geospatial products known as “instances” which are designed to facilitate requirements of key EU policies, as well as to support specific needs of stakeholders. #contract #win #business

The flooding, spread across 9 states, has cost the lives of at least 19 people and brought major disruption in the form of road closures and power outages to tens of thousands of people. To provide clients with intelligence around where their relevant portfolios are at risk of being impacted by the flooding, the team have added an Exposure Layer to #GEO. This initial report release identifies a number of potentially flooded areas across Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. If you do not have GEO access but require insight into how your business may be affected, get in touch with James Doe for more information on how MIS can support or visit: https://lnkd.in/e3jYXC9x #commercial, #earthobservation, #remotesensing, #business, #insurance, Forbes McKenzie
