About us

Sealy’s mission is a simple one: to help the world sleep better. This is more than just a hollow philosophy or something we hang on the walls. This mission literally drives everything we do. It’s for this reason that we spend more on research and development than any other mattress brands in the world. Sealy has a long history of making quality beds. The first Sealy mattresses were made in 1881, in a small town called ‘Sealy’ in Texas, USA. In 1950, Sealy introduced its first Sealy Posturepedic brand mattress, the only mattress in the industry that focused on the importance of correct back support, designed in cooperation with Orthopaedic Surgeons. Sealy Asia (Singapore) Pte Ltd is a joint venture between Sealy Inc. of USA and Sealy of Australia. Founded in 2001, the company started trading officially in December 2001. It is now well established as a premium brand in the local industry and has its products displayed on the floors of major retailers like Robinsons, Takashimaya, Tangs, Courts and Harvey Norman. Sealy also has its own Sleep Boutiques located across the island. Through Sealy's initiative and never-ending aim for excellence, our mattresses have emerged as the preferred choice of international hotel chains such as St. Regis, The Ritz Carlton, Marina Bay Sands, InterContinental Hotel, Grand Hyatt, Capella, Four Seasons, Shangri-La etc. With such a strong footing in the industry and through its superior design, manufacturing and leadership, Sealy is poised to continue its legacy for years to come.

  • Last week, members of the Sealy Singapore Team attended the annual Sealy International Meeting that was held in Seoul. It was an incredible opportunity to hear business updates from the various country leaders and gain valuable insights from the R&D Team. We also learnt from Sealy Korea’s Marketing Team and Sealy Australia’s Sales Team during their sharing sessions and walked through a product teardown. That night, everyone was dressed to the nines for the International Awards Dinner and Team Singapore clinched the Business Administration Manager of the Year! The dinner ended with a joyful karaoke session and we were impressed to see so many talents in the Sealy world! In addition, we also visited some of the Sealy stores in Seoul. Our sales team were on the lookout for suitable mattresses for Singapore while our marketing team exchanged ideas on in-store displays. It was a great learning journey for everyone and the team certainly enjoyed their time in Seoul!

  • Just yesterday, Sealy had the privilege of hosting an enlightening Sleep and Health Seminar together with Nanyang Medical Group, where experts came together to shed light on the vital connection between sleep, spinal health, posture, and overall well-being. Our expert panel included Dr. Nicholas Yeoh, Orthopaedic Specialist and Dr. Leong Jern Lin, Senior Consultant ENT Surgeon as well as Yoga instructor Ms. Cheryl Leo. All of them offered invaluable insights from their unique field of expertise. From the importance of proper sleep posture to the role that rest plays in our health, the discussions were nothing short of eye-opening. Dr. Leong Jern Lin delved into how our breathing patterns during sleep can affect not just rest, but long-term health (including growing kids), while Dr. Nicholas Yeoh emphasized the critical link between spinal alignment and the prevention of aches and pains. Lastly, our yoga instructor guided us through simple yet effective stretches that you can actually do while seated which helps in promoting better posture and deeper, restorative sleep. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us! We are excited to continue the conversation around health, sleep and posture – because when we rest well, we live well.

  • There are many common factors that cause us to wake during the night, from temperature and noise to work schedules. But did you know what is the most common factor? Our bladders! 48% of us are waking up at night to use the bathroom, and this increases as we age.   Our data also highlighted some secondary insights. Those who used a device for entertainment (e.g. social media, messaging) before bed were more likely to report problems with their sleep. Younger people and females were more likely to keep their phones closer to their bed daily. If you used a device before bed, you are less likely to wake up feeling refreshed and well rested.   To find out more on the Global Sleep Census, visit https://lnkd.in/gNMK9kcH
