  • Taking a break is not always about resting—it can be about rediscovering purpose. At NVPC, we recognise the value of pausing to reflect, recharge, and gain new perspectives. That’s why we offer Take-a-Pause (TAP) Leave—two weeks of paid leave for every three years of service for our employees. For Lenard Pattiselanno, Senior Director of Community Leadership & Partnerships, his TAP leave was more than just a break—it was a journey of learning, family bonding, and self-discovery. From spending quality time with loved ones to picking up new skills, Lenard embraced this time to reflect on what truly matters. His biggest takeaway? Purpose isn’t just tied to a job title—it’s something we can craft in many ways. Read about his experience here: https://lnkd.in/gNbt_469

  • 🎬 Lights, Camera, Action! 🎥 Our CEO Tony Soh was invited to moderate a filmed session with panellists Mr Desmond Chin, Commissioner of Charities, Ms Theresa Goh, Chair of Charity Council and Ms Anita Fam, President of National Council of Social Service (NCSS), as part of the revamp of the Governance for Outstanding Organisation Directors (SGOOD) programme. Developed by the Singapore Institute of Directors in partnership with NCSS and supported by NVPC, SGOOD is designed to equip board members of non-profit organisations (NPOs) with critical skills that go beyond the basic compliance requirements of a non-profit director to provide an understanding of the various aspects of an NPO and good governance practices. The refreshed SGOOD aims to elevate the content and delivery format of the existing programme to better address emerging trends and challenges in the sector. When it is launched in the coming months, charity board members can look forward to fresh perspectives from the panel on the following areas: • What good governance in the context of Singapore’s charity sector looks like • How charity boards impact organisational governance and their pivotal role in ensuring conformance, performance, and transformation • Lessons from lived examples of translating governance principles into sound practices that will enhance public trust and stakeholder confidence in the charity sector • Trends that board members need to be aware of and respond to, so that charities are future-ready • Best practices to enhance board effectiveness and charity performance to address future trends • Change management in terms of shifting mindsets and transforming the culture of charity boards to foster future-focused social change and impact. At NVPC, we work closely with the people, private, and public sectors to grow a culture of giving in Singapore. We are glad to have been invited to contribute to SGOOD and emphasise the importance of good governance as the lynchpin of trust in the giving ecosystem. Many thanks to the Singapore Institute of Directors for the invitation and to Usha Menon for making the arrangements for NVPC to be part of this important and exciting endeavour! #nvpc #ncss #SGood #ForwardSG #boardleadership #nonprofits
