  • 𝗜𝗳 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗺 𝘂𝗽 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱. Travelling to other countries to deliver training and workshops has become our second nature - pack, board, land, facilitate, repeat. But this time, the script flipped. Right after delivering an incredible offsite for Google in Bangkok, our team took a well-earned breather by the hotel pool. Blue skies, sun, calm water… until the calm was broken. Within seconds, the pool sloshed like a wave machine. Staff were sprinting from buildings. Crowds spilled into the streets. Phones rang with panicked voices. Flights cancelled, taxis vanished, traffic frozen. In a flash, our day shifted from recovery mode to crisis management. And in that moment, we had to practise exactly what we preach: stay calm, adapt fast, and lean on each other. Because when panic sets in, the brain doesn’t function as it should. It switches into survival mode. That’s when people freeze, make poor decisions, or forget even the most basic safety protocols. Training matters — but so does the presence of the mind. And presence doesn’t come naturally when adrenaline is flooding your system. This experience was a real-world reminder of why adaptability, composure, and human connection matter — not just in the office, but everywhere. The chaos didn’t define us. Our response did. And it’s true what they say: the journey is just as important as the destination — especially when the ground is literally shaking beneath your feet. Massive thank you to Pree, Daphne, Li'er and Karin for your calm heads, quick thinking, and steady support 🙏 Our hearts go out to the people of Thailand and Myanmar affected by the earthquake ♥️

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀! This month, we’re celebrating 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗗𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆, a talented writer and storyteller from Migrant Writers of Singapore. We first met Janelyn through a workshop initiative with Sing Lit Station, and her passion for storytelling left a lasting impression. Janelyn dreams of becoming a confident speaker, delivering spoken word poetry that captivates and inspires. Her journey started early—selling vegetables at just 10 years old taught her resilience and the art of persuasion. Now, she channels that same determination into her writing, always striving for growth and deeper meaning. Beyond writing, Janelyn finds joy in books, embroidery, and self-reflection. Her passion and generosity inspire us all! ✨

  • We are beyond grateful to have been part of the 𝗦𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺, where meaningful conversations turned into real steps toward safer digital spaces. Seeing so many people come together with open hearts and minds reminded us that change begins with understanding, respect, and a shared commitment. In our breakout sessions, we discussed 💜 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 and strengthening support for victims. 💜 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 to combat online harms. 💜 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 for Singapore, ensuring it aligns with online and offline norms. When it comes to online safety, simply blocking access isn’t the solution—education is. By guiding and empowering young people, parents, educators, and tech leaders, we can help create a digital space that’s safer, kinder, and more inclusive for all. Thank you to SHE Singapore for organising this incredible event and our brilliant facilitators for expertly guiding these conversations. #FridayMakers #WomensMonth #SHEAnnualSymposium #SaferDigitalSpaces #WomenInAI #DigitalEducation

✈️ 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 ✈️ We believe facilitation is vital for workplace success, and we’re always eager to showcase its transformative impact. So, we were thrilled when Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) approached us to design and deliver facilitation training for their budding supervisors. As a key player in managing Singapore’s immigration policies, ensuring border security, and facilitating seamless travel, ICA Singapore relies on strong leadership. 🚨👮♀️ That’s why 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻—𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝘀—𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 for their team leaders. Over the past few weeks, Sing Lit Station has been privileged to host a series of capacity-building workshops for the Migrant Writers of Singapore (MWS), in partnership with FridayMakers and supported by The Majurity Trust. From Leadership and Teamwork Skills to Public Speaking and Communication, these sessions have provided MWS volunteers with valuable tools to strengthen their leadership and amplify their voices within the community. On 8 Dec, we concluded the series with our final workshop on Facilitation Skills. Led by Mugan from FridayMakers, this session focused on empowering participants with practical strategies to lead their own programmes with confidence and clarity. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to see these skills come to life in the many programmes MWS has in store—from craft workshops to literary walks, poetry readings, and literature festivals! A heartfelt thank you to FridayMakers for their invaluable partnership and to The Majurity Trust for their generous support in making this series possible. Here's to building a stronger, more inclusive literary community—one workshop at a time. 💬✨
