Late in March, Clifford Chance hosted the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Australia Branch Vis Pre-Moot in our #Sydney office. Eight teams appeared before an esteemed panel chaired by Hon Justice Stevenson, NSW Supreme Court, with Kristian Maley from Clifford Chance – also Chair of CIArb Australia Young Member's Group – and Tamlyn Mills from Norton Rose Fulbright. Panelists challenged the teams with a range of astute questions and counterpoints, which were met with robust and compelling engagement. UNSW prevailed in the Grand Final round, defeating the La Trobe University team before teams and arbitrators enjoyed a lively closing reception thanks to sponsor Sky Discovery and an intensive program of simulated hearings hosted by Clifford Chance. We wish the teams all the best success in the Vis East Moot and the Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and welcome all the aspiring lawyers to the #arbitration community. #LawStudents #LegalCompetition #CareersinLaw #VisMoot
