From groundbreaking electric machines to modular energy systems - here are some Volvo Group highlights from this week: 🟢 At Bauma 2025, Volvo Trucks and Putzmeister Group unveiled a battery-electric concrete pump truck developed with Swerock. Based on the Volvo FM Electric, it can drive up to 50 km and pump 50 m³ of concrete before recharging. The system enables silent, zero-exhaust operations, with the option to pump while charging on site. 🟢 Also at Bauma, Volvo Construction Equipment introduced the world’s first electric articulated hauler in its size class. With this launch, Volvo CE now offers a complete electric lineup, alongside conventional combustion engine options and a range of pioneering service solutions that boost customers’ productivity, efficiency and sustainability. 🟢 In partnership with e-power, Volvo Penta has delivered a modular Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) tailored for Boels Rental. The integration-ready subsystem enables flexible deployment and fast adaptation for a variety of off-grid and low-emission power applications in the rental sector.

Today, data from the World Economic Forum shows a significant shortage of women studying and working in tech. Women make up only 28.2 percent of the STEM workforce, compared to 47.3 percent in non-STEM sectors. This gap limits access to talent, other perspectives, and the full potential for innovation. One way to help close the gap is to start early. That’s why we visit schools around the world, introducing students to the possibilities of a future in science, technology and engineering. Research shows that early exposure to tech, especially between first and third grade, boosts confidence and interest that can grow over time. In recent months, our teams have met with students in several countries. Renault Trucks met with more than 350 students, offering hands-on activities and talks by well-known engineers. Volvo Trucks and Volvo Group hosted workshops in India and the USA, giving more than 300 children from preschool to middle school a chance to explore new technologies and solve real-world challenges. The enthusiasm we’ve seen makes us excited for the future of engineering. And who knows? Some of these students might one day become our colleagues.

Today at bauma, Volvo CE CEO Melker Jernberg has unveiled the industry's first battery-electric articulated hauler in its size class: the Volvo A30 Electric. A 40-ton class version is also on the way. With this launch, Volvo CE now offers a complete electric lineup, alongside conventional combustion engine options, to support customers at every stage of their transformation journey. Yesterday, we held our annual general meeting at Konserthuset in Gothenburg. Our chairman of the board, Pär Boman, highlighted that Volvo Group’s real strength is its culture that makes 102,000 employees collaborate and solve tasks every day. Martin Lundstedt, our CEO, continued by emphasizing that 2024 was a year with stability in earnings and good cash generation as well as a record year in terms of product launches as all business areas introduced new products and services. Thanks to strong finances, Volvo Group can both provide a good return to shareholders and invest in the products and solutions strengthening its future competitiveness.
